I saw the film this past weekend in new york.

he did a slide show/reading from his books before hand, and a book signing and Q&A session afterwards.

He is touring the film around the US, so catch it if it comes near you cos it won't be coming out on DVD

I think he does in fact rule. His rat catching book was legitimately odd in a good way.

actually, he was originally making a short film based on the same concepts, but decided instead to make it a full feature.

He may have toured the shorter version, but this one uses different cast members and I suppose is the finished product.

I saw him when presented his film and slide show in Milwaukee. He also did a Q&A session. It was pretty cool. The slide show was the best part. He seemed like a pretty down to earth guy, actually. People asked him some really stupid questions, and he handled it without being a dick.

yeah, for real. someone at the Q&A session I was at asked him, verbatim, "So, like, what's your opinion on destiny and beauty?"

he managed to dance around that one in a respectful way. I guess he realized that the inquisitor was already doing a good enough job making an ass of himself

"The adventures of a young man whose principle interests are snails, salt, a pipe, and how to get home, and is tormented by a hubristic, racist inner psyche."

I liked the movie a whole lot more after reading that sentence.

Why, what is his take on being involved in that flick? He didn't like?

Ever see him in the Friday The 13th where it's him and Cory Feldman? BRILLIANT!

"actually, he was originally making a short film based on the same concepts, but decided instead to make it a full feature. "

The one I saw 8-10 years ago was a full length feature (1hr 20 min. or so)...I think this played that year at the Chicago Underground Film Fest....
who knows...maybe he re-edited it with newer footage, etc...
entertaining, at best.
