Yeah! Good stuff for sure.

The great thing is that they just keep getting better. All their new songs rule (2nd LP won't disappoint one bit), and recent live shows have been really fun and exciting!!

vinyl should be at the goner store by Goner Fest!! 500 copies, 100 of which will be double-sided color vinyl, which is to say one side will be one color, the other side will be a different color... thanks to our wacky vinyl pressing friends in the Czech Republic...

Posted: Sep 18, 2006 6:04 am

Banned- we'll have our own copies this week as long as Dusty has stopped being a liar. It sounds better when you pay the band for it.

Tahrab- I'm visiting for my dad's birthday the first weekend of Oct. I wanna get wasted in K-Zoo and meet Hercules and eat health food and junk! More on that later.

Dale- I'll save a Bronco colored one for ya.

Muswell - save a fancy one for me if you can.

Hey Muswell or Dusty-
I would very much like a fancy vinyl edition which I can actually pay for on demand if that's what it takes. Please, oh please.
Posted: Sep 18, 2006 4:57 pm

Oh yeah, "props" on the Nesmith puppet.
Posted: Sep 18, 2006 5:33 pm

Ronnie, when Andy was making it, he commented on how he'd most likely have to make one for you, too, after you saw it. Did you see the pics Tom took of it on the birthday card? the one where it's coming out from behind the tree is my favorite.

Favorite Cemetary Trails tracks: Sordid Borders, Deadweight, Smoke and Mirrors, It takes it's Toll, Shortwave Radio Slowdance and You Won't Change.

I got my copy in the mail today. Listened to it twice already. Thought about taking the day off from work so I could spend all afternoon listening to it. I got tomorrow off though but have to do some travelling. I will be burning a copy of it to CD so I can listened to it during my drive.

Showed up yesterday. The colored vinyl is in fact a thing of serious beauty and the record...well, I can't imagine listening to much else in the coming weeks. Is the first record still available?
Posted: Oct 14, 2006 7:03 pm

this is the first record... there's demos but this is the first official release by GNL... though record #2 is already finished...

Can't wait to see these guys again next month!

"Dead Fish On The Banks" continually blows my minds! whoah!
That song really is great. I'd like to open a new discussion here: Beat Goodnight Loving Album?

I caught on late in the game but have quickly become a super-fan. Cemetery Trails is now blowing my mind after my first few listens but I've been a die-hard lover of the s/t album since it was released. New stuff sounds just as vital.

How'd these guys get so good so quick? Is there any pre-GNL background? Dusty? Greg? Anyone . . ..

Andy (Harris) and Ryan from GNL were in a similar group (that actually toured with GNL early on) called the Jukeboyds who have recordings floating here and there. Some of Harris' GNL songs actually originated in the Jukeboyds.

[Best] Goodnight Loving album?

All three are great, as well as the different 7"s. These guys are easily among my favorite bands of the last 5 years.

hey that's my birthday!

yeah! um.. they just put out a 7" on Dirtnap which is still available, there are 2 other 7"s which i believe are out of print, and there is also a 5 song 12" coming out on an Italian label in a couple weeks. and they just finished recording their next full length due in June.
Posted: Feb 25, 2010 2:21 am

I have a handful of the GnL single I put out still if anyone still looking for one.
Posted: Feb 25, 2010 6:50 am

Which one?
Posted: Feb 25, 2010 7:53 am

Dale, if the dudes don't have copies on 'em this weekend, I'll definitely take one.
Posted: Feb 25, 2010 1:37 pm

I don't think they have anymore. I've only got a few left here.

Janderass,
It's the Bancroft single with the smash hit "Up North Girl" and two quiet, pretty acoustic songs on the b-side.

email me at smashintransistors@yahoo.com if you're interested.

Ah, thanks, I've got that one. Saw that Contaminated still has 'Drafted Into War', ordered one of them today.

Or the Skag Barons tape?

sounds like ya need Crooked Lake!

Yeah. I'm happy to be totally geeking out on Cemetary Trails by myself right now. Kinda feel glad about starting out on s/t then coming here. I did get to see them in 08 and then made sure DJ their show last year. Have the new release on pre-order, so, I'll let Crooked Lake wait, I'm sure it's great.

"You Won't Change" and "Dead Fish" are the best right now!
Posted: Feb 28, 2010 12:16 pm

Or the Skag Barons tape?

Skag Barons tape, to my knowledge, has never been digitized! I imagine Zink would be the guy to ask about that. I might have some Jukeboyds stuff laying around, I'll check.
Posted: Feb 28, 2010 1:06 pm

Jeff America told me at one time he would send me a Skag Barons tape. A saw him a few weeks later and asked him where it was. He said it caught on fire.

I've got a copy of the Juke Boyds tour CD around here somewhere. I need to dig it up too. Not just to hear a couple of GnL songs in their original form again but to crank up "My Victoria" real loud.
Posted: Feb 28, 2010 7:15 pm

new Jukeboyds compilation CD in the works for this summer!
