Carboners = Crucial!
Posted: Aug 9, 2006 10:19 pm

Not only are they really good and really accessable (a rare thing), their name recalls the Ramones and I'm sure that'll sell a few copies right there. I'm surprised no one took the name back in the pop punk Ramones worship days of the mid-late 90s.

There's been more than one pop-punk Carbonas in the US and Europe, but they've all been awful. The one now is good.

Hey...is C/BBB 2/4 or 3/4 of the Frantic? Can't remember.

Greg plays drums in the Frantic and sings in Carbonas. Mike plays drums in Beat Beat Beat and plays guitar in the Frantic. Brannon plays bass in both the Frantic and Beat Beat Beat.

When I moved to Austin and started putting things from Rocks Off on consignment at End of an Ear I brought a Carbonas LP over one day and it sold an hour later....so I brought another LP and two 45s over the next day and all were gone in a couple of days...so I brought the rest of my Carbonas stash to them and it all went quick....so people must like them in ATX too....

Yeah, it did sound pretty good.

Frantic is cool.

This Dutchmasters 7" is cool. Who's this Eric Friedl guy?

Now I am moving on to Bazooka Joe-approved U-Turns.

Prepare for the wurst.
Posted: Aug 10, 2006 10:51 pm

Pretty cool. Kinda reminds me of that Silver 7" with the ineptness and whathaveyou. Kinda novelty, but maybe it'll grow on me like moss. How's that Flakes/KKBBQ split?
