The book's one of his best. The movie, we'll see.

It isn't playing anywhere near Port Huron. Might make the trek to go see it though.

A friend of mine whose big into Dick saw this and said it was good. Said they left out certain things, but it was fairly accurate to the book.

Yeah, you got a lot of friends into big dicks, eh?

I saw it. I was preoccupied with some shit, so I lost some of the plot. The dude I went and seen it with is going to loan me the book. I dug the animation. If I wasn't a borderline mental case, I would love to see it again on acid. I thought the casting was appropriate...

Opens July 28th nationwide. Scanner is one of PKD's best, as is Flow My Tears the Policeman Said. Can't wait to see this one. Just reread Scanner last Fall in anticipation of this movie.

Perhaps, but it is still one of his weakest novels in my opinion, classic or not. It's not that it was terrible but you take two heavy hitters, like Linkletter and Dick, and their styles are prone to interfere with one another. I think the movie suffered as a result. The casting was pretty good, but it didn't blow me away at all. Plus, the sqiggle vision became nauseating. Dont see this movie drunk.

I can think of a few books of his I like more, but I'd hardly call it one of his weakest. How much of his work have you read? I've read virtually everything in print, and although I even love his stuff that excited me less, it's definately one his better books.

I have read most of the novels, and I repeat, "meh." I like UBIK and the VALIS triology best, but I also dug we can build you and the world jones made quite a bit.
