Posted: Apr 30, 2006 7:36 pm

the 5+ minute "noise outro" at the end of the set. Even bands I love do it - but it's a stupid, self indulgent, overdone cliche.

I usually head straight for the bar to beat the rush.

Neo "Synth Punk" bands and their stupid keyboards.
Posted: Apr 30, 2006 7:55 pm

I can dig on the "noise outro" if it's kind of a noise band. But, generally, Mr. Cuervo is right-on: head to the bar to beat the rush.

Also, that guy from the Hunches would sound WAY BETTER live if he didn't do that stupid schtick he does. I like their records, but the live show is one of the worst, most over-rated things ever!

making the "o" face during solos

i can see how the crowd wandering thing could get played out if you see it more than once, but i thought the live show was brilliant. lots of noise and energy. as good or better than the records!

Yeah--The Hunches "Thing". I was at one of their very first shows and they pretty much did the exact thing they did a few years later at a much larger club. The first time I saw it--in a teeny bar--I was pretty thrilled. But seeing them do it literally 3 years down the road and it being so obviously an act was a total turn-off. I like the band though...on record.

Set lists.

If you've got more than one song and a Myspace account people can just yell which songs to play. Go back to the set list if people stop yelling.
