Look at what's happened to me,
I can't believe it myself.
Suddenly I'm up on top of the world,
It should've been somebody else.

Believe it or not,
I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free-.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me.

It's like a light of a new day-,
It came from out of the blue.
Breaking me out of the spell I was in,
Making all of my wishes come true-.

Believe it or not,
I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free-.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me.

The greatest american hero should be put back on the air. wasn't it on late saurtday afternoons? Seeing those lyrics, I looked up the lyrics to that triumph song, magic power, and came across another Triumph song, that I've never heard. This might be even better. Without even knowing how it goes, I bet moto could do a sweet cover of this tune. Rock troops, move out!

Triumph - Allied Forces Lyrics

I've got something on my mind
I want you to know
Rock troops are on the move
It's startin' to show
Paratroopers everywhere
Can't you see
Strategic weapons
Are something we don't need

CHORUS:
Allied Forces in every nation
Allied Forces gonna take control
Allied Forces of my generations
Allied Forces of rock 'n' roll

Youth culture in overdrive
Mass frustration
Too much, too little, too late
Class alienation
Denim armies working
Consolidate the might
War games, maneuvers
Rehearsals in the night

CHORUS

I've got something on my mind
I want you to know
Rock troops are on the move
It's startin' to show
Paratroopers everywhere
Are ready to fight
We're mobile allies
Marchin' every night

CHORUS

"Paradise City" GnR.

#1 - "You're the Best" - Joe Esposito

HAHAHA!!! That's the best, obscure movie song from the '80s.

Bad to the bone like Bam Bam Bigelow!
Posted: Apr 2, 2006 3:13 am

Not that the movie is obscure, but the song...who'd ever remember that?

IT'S RAINING MEN!!!!

"Up, Up and Away" by the 5th Dimension.
"We Built This City on Rock and Roll" by Starship. The VERY first time I looked for this song on vinyl, I found it within two minutes in a cut out bin. I know that sounds pretty shocking! I bought it to get revenge on my crackhead neighbors. They were this black couple and for a few nights there they would fuck to this gawdawful R and B bullshit all night long The next night I had off, I blasted this chart topper ALL Night. They moved after a few months. TAKE THAT MOTHERFUCKERS! On a side note, the copy I have is the 33rpm 12" promotional d.j. copy. Full color picture sleeve. Grace Slick's ensemble is such an eyesore, it makes me want to puke. Mullet City. Every tacky assed fashion cliche from the 80's is demonstrated. Bidding starts at $99.99 plus shipping.DISAPPOINTMENT GUARENTEED!

"Eye of the Tiger" - Survivor

Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

Chorus:
It's the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry
They stack the odds 'til we take to the street
For we kill with the skill to survive

chorus

Risin' up, straight to the top
Have the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive

chorus

The eye of the tiger

Don't stop believing

Just a small town girl,
livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere...
Just a city boy,
born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere...

A singer in a smokey room,
the smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on...

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

(chorus)
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlight people

Oh man, does "Eye of the Tiger" by the mighty Survivor get me pumped up! When I was a kid, a friend and I used to play air guitar to this of the jukebox when our parents would take us to the local supper club (Hickory Hills Supper Club and Golf Course... a bit north of Chilton, WI). The same friend and I also used to do air guitar and grunt out the "dant dat dat dat dat dat dat dant dant daaaaaaa" sounds when we were away from the jukebox.

Years later, when in high school, I was riding around with some local morons around De Pere and Green Bay, WI when this fistpumper came on the shitbox radio. We were all stoned off of our asses and cheered/yelled/laughed during the duration of the song. It was a great moment to be alive...

I used to have the 45 when I was a kid, but my fucking cousin sat on it, along with "Things Can Only Get Better" by inane synth-clown limey Howard Jones.
