OK, so what are your thoughts at this point in the game???

And I am READY for the Daniel V/Santino showdown at the Atlas.
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 6:58 pm

This season has been chalk full of ups and downs...I was TOTALLY a Daniel V fan until that awful thing he made for Chloe last week...it was HORRIBLE! That being said I have never really liked anything Santino has done but yet everyone keeps claiming he's so talented... I feel bad for Nick cuz he definitely deserved to make it to at least the top 4... I think Daniel will pull through...if he doesn't play it too safe... Santino is just WAY to much into the embellishing... Then again Santino is the Jay of this season... but I think Jay had more talent.

Speaking of Jay, my friend got one of his bags for a birthday present and it was on back order for 9 MONTHS! And then when she got it it was like 8 inches by 10 inches on the cheapest ass canvas bag ever and it had like 10 circles stitched on it...it must have taken him a total of 3 minutes to do it.

Fuck Santino. He should be out already. Kara has gotten lucky, she will be out next week. Chloe vs. Daniel is the real showdown. Santino is a fucking joke.
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 7:05 pm

I admit that I'm a fan....
I think they like Santino's personality, his art-clothes are unwearable.....
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 7:11 pm

the producers keep Santino around for the very reason that he brings drama to the show. if he were out of the equation, the show would be boring.

chloe, daniel and kara are boring
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 7:13 pm

I love Santino (tho I hated him the first few weeks). I remember his first dress and the clothing he showed at the audition and I certainly thought he was my fave designer. Funny, Kara also had some great stuff at the audition. I think both of them are more artistes and don't do well at all with the challenge aspect and the weird time-constraints, though Kara has come into her own the last 2 weeks.

Daniel V showed himself to be the Heathers boy that he actually is this week with all his instigating and ostracizing of Santino. I liked him until the other night.

Chloe--she is good. I have liked her dresses and think she has the broadest appeal.

Jay Carroll (is that his name? Forgot)--loved him last year, but he is a now a egomaniacal little ho. He has all of his harsh faginess with no soft side. Boo!
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 7:16 pm

michael korrs -- dont get me started on him.

his critiques easch week are hillarious

and tim? he's an old saucy fag
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 7:16 pm

hello Frissssco!
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 7:28 pm

I'm still convinced that Emmett and Tim are "partners"
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 7:38 pm

ya....they seemed a little too cozy on the show.

they probably cruise farmers markets together on the weekends, buying fruit and fresh cut flowers
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 7:42 pm

Tim did say he "knew Emmett from his Parsons days". And Emmett is 38, so maybe they attended Parsons together??? Tim looks as if he is early 40's.
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 7:43 pm

And yes, Michael Kors has some priceless bons mots!!!!
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 8:00 pm

Posted: Feb 10, 2006 8:03 pm

The best was when Santino critiqued his dress as Michael and said it looked like a baboon's ass exploding.
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 8:57 pm

Are these space pants?
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 9:47 pm | Edited by: Matthew

...cause my ass is out of this world.

I'm a new PR recruit so my analysis may lack depth, but...

I'll say it again...Santino-cool guy. Mediocre designer.

Daniel clinched it for me after the bodice work on the plant dress. That was too special to be a fluke/coincidence.

Nick was weak, gald he's gone.

Kara's a mess. But her designs are decent.

Tim. The Best.

see you guys @ Red Lobster.
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 9:51 pm

Posted: Feb 10, 2006 10:01 pm

Austin was great in his own "special" way. He was genuine, at least.

Yeah, Daniel can do it up, but I no longer want "Vukovich-y-YOW" (Say like "Superfreaky-YOW!" a la Rick James) to win due to his overlording to Santino. Chloe is as talented as he is. That dress with all the leaves??!?!?!?! Christ jesus.
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 10:19 pm | Edited by: Matthew

that dress with leaves was out of this world in an obsessive way and certainly looked the part but I saw ALOT of stuff like her leaf dress in art school(cringe) so I was a little turned off by it. So that's my bias. I can't remember her design from this week so based on two viewings that's all I can muster.

Santino would be fun to hang out with and make fun of stuff with but the one judge said it best..."Santino doesn't know how to make a woman feel comfortable"...in his clothing designs. And that was obvious w. Carol's jumpsuit, which would have been great at a tupperware party or competetive rollerderby.

I thought Kara's for Santino was the best from the other night...but that, to me, was more like the best of the worst.
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 10:27 pm | Edited by: fierydrunk

Art School Confidential!!!!

She did Nick's "Dandy" suit. Nicely done. Minus the chain.

Agreed, re: Kara. I dunno, I just like her, even though she is off the chain neurotic. She likes the same designers I do (yeah, I read her bio on the Bravo page!!!!)...
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 10:53 pm

That's right, the Dandy suit. I forgot.
Ironically Nick got eliminated looking the best out of the bunch.
Posted: Feb 10, 2006 11:28 pm

Kara has gotten lucky

she shouldve been out the week she made that black dress with the caution tape,

chloe is the most consistent designer...daniel was my favorite until this week's episode. lame

glad nick's gone
Posted: Feb 11, 2006 1:02 am

chloe and nick duke it out as santino fails by trying to mask his shitty designs as "art". kara sucks, nick shoulda stuck it out one more week instead of her lame ass.

So I usually can bet money that Project Runway Wednesday Potlucks are the gayest that my week will get but this week... did anyone watch the opening of the olympics tonight? Disco and Norwegians make a great pair!! My favorite was that the announcer actually called Kim Carnes "immortal" and said that his night would be complete upon hearing "Bette Davis Eyes".
Posted: Feb 11, 2006 3:45 am

My favorite was that the announcer actually called Kim Carnes "immortal" and said that his night would be complete upon hearing "Bette Davis Eyes".

that sentence just changed my plans for the night. Hellllloooooo NBC!!!

I was riding a bus a few days ago, and some girl got in a huge argument on her cell phone with another person. It was pretty heated, and people were sort of craning their necks to hear what was going on.

Turned out the chick was having an argument about why Santino didn't get kicked off last week, even though his dress fell apart. Lasted about ten minutes, too.
Posted: Feb 16, 2006 1:57 pm

And I am READY for the Daniel V/Santino showdown at the Atlas.
the producers of this show would be foolish to let it be any other way...to much drama there. If they stick to the gowns the audience suffers.

as interested in this show as I am, last night's again seemed to be about the 'best of the worst.' Daniel's of course was 'the best' if very simple/plain...looked great/no risk. Santino's would've looked great on Beyonce and that's not a bad thing. it was a risk at least.

for being a professional Chloe's design looked amateur to me last night.

if Kara would get her shit together she could make some really nice stuff.
Posted: Feb 16, 2006 2:13 pm

also. next week spoiler/shocker...

Heidi gives birth on the runway to a kercheif-wearing boy who looks exactly like Daniel(hmmmmmn?) while Santino bottles the afterbirth and uses as hair tonic. Heidi never breaks a sweat.
Posted: Feb 16, 2006 3:17 pm

Heidi gives birth to a baby seal... oh wait.
Posted: Feb 16, 2006 3:44 pm

arrrggghhhh it annoyed the shit outta me last night -- everyone was heaping praise on santino calling him a genius even though his dress was hideous and he's really just a one-trick pony -- EVERYTHING he designed, with the exception of that woman-hating jumpsuit he made for kara, had that tight bodice and full skirt with tons of raggedy streamers inlaid... gotta say that Kara's stuff was dull, though, much more dull than the dress she was wearing that she said she designed herself.

why didn't anyone ever silkscreen anything or really manipulate the fabric this season? it's all been about pattern-making -- with the exception of santino, who is delusional...
Posted: Feb 16, 2006 4:25 pm

Ooops. Jesus h. I shoulda known not to click on this thread as we DVR-ed it to watch today!!! Whatevs. But I love Santino (for the purposes of this show anyway) so more time with him is fine by me.

The real spoiler is I have SEEN pix from the Olympus Fashion Week (ha!) runway shows!!!!! I will say that one person totally will surprise.
Posted: Feb 16, 2006 5:48 pm

ooooh oooh I can't wait!

no way, I wanna be suprised in 'real time' if I can
Posted: Feb 16, 2006 5:59 pm

I'm sure the judges have just been told by the producers to keep Santino on the show until the final. It's all about his personality. People hate him. People love him. People want to cut off his "creepy ponytail" and shave of his beard and shove them down his throat.

Nick was too nice. So nice that I cried when he was eliminated. But before that happened I thought that it would be weird if the got to the final three without a woman in the bunch. They've now guaranteed at least one woman in the final three.
Posted: Feb 16, 2006 5:59 pm

the link i just posted is to mitch, rich, and other's discussion.......
Posted: Feb 16, 2006 6:01 pm

You are like Ryan...he'll kill me when he finds out that I cheated. It was totally unintentional! I was looking at a bunch of pix from "real" designers and then I saw it--the link to the Project Runway show. How could I turn away????
Posted: Feb 16, 2006 6:07 pm

I am shocked that I love Santino after really despising him the first few weeks. Something he did or said just turned me around. I think he is hilarious, which helps.

And Daniel V. Well, he is turning into to much of a poof for my tastes. He was interviewed on CNN about something to do with the next wave of fashion and he said Zac Posen was the next Great American Designer (boo--he just said that cos he is cute and gay like him) and how boring American's were compared to European women because we don't wear stilleto boots to get a coke at the 7-11. What a fop.

Last but not least, we got on DVR Tim Gunn being interviewed by TUCKER CARLSON about Olympics Fashion yesterday. Tears were coming out of my eyes. He said the "Third World" had problems with keeping up to date with good Olympic Fashion and that the worst costumes so far where the Chinese ice skating costumes which were "in a word, atrocious."
Posted: Feb 17, 2006 4:02 pm

...so I saw it last night. Daniel V is a little beeyotch. Santino's dress would have been fine if he had have laid off on all that Little Mermaid shit.

So now that it doesn't matter, Kara Janx's runway clothes are fantastic from Fashion Week. SERIOUSLY. Look em up. I was stunned.
Posted: Feb 17, 2006 4:07 pm

I can't do it. I just googled her and I'm convinced I'm gonna land on some site with more info than I need about who won this and that. No spoilers!

I'm not suprised her stuff is good off PR. She's not good with the time constraints and obviously very indecisive but did have some neat stuff happening.
Posted: Feb 17, 2006 6:05 pm | Edited by: fierydrunk

Yeah, don't Google. Just wait.

I appreciate about her that she doesn't tow some line of bullshit; when they asked her why they would expect some great show at Fashion Week from her and why she designs something a certain way, she is so utterly ineloquent...which is awesome. Everyone else had obviously been through that crit process at some art or design school ad nauseum.
Posted: Feb 17, 2006 6:09 pm

i'm confused........she got cut!
Posted: Feb 17, 2006 6:21 pm

They let the 4th person show on the runway also...they let Austin do it last year because by the time Fashion Week hit (just like this year) there were still 4 in the competition and they try to avoid spoilers.

In the few pix I saw, her stuff easily was as good, if not better in a few cases, than the others.
Posted: Feb 17, 2006 6:37 pm

Santino's dress would have been fine if he had have laid off on all that Little Mermaid shit.

take away the Little Mermaid shit, and you'd have a naked model standing there. that's ALL he does.
Posted: Feb 17, 2006 6:53 pm

HA! Hater!!!!!!

Love him or hate him. I definitely am not of the camp that he is the most talented. I think he is the only one in that camp.
Posted: Feb 17, 2006 8:01 pm

Which one is the one that looks like Chad?

What was The Comeback?

And, oh great, I now get to hate Heidi Klum who definitely charmed me all last season!!!!
Posted: Feb 22, 2006 5:42 pm

I think the only way I could hate Heidi is if she end's up having ANYTHING in the world to do with tyra. That includes having her own talk show.

pretty sure 2nite's a 'reunion' show. didn't see last season so I guess I'm out.
Posted: Feb 22, 2006 5:59 pm

The clips I saw from the reunion show were THIS season's kids.

You would definitely take abuse from Heidi! I guess most people would. Whoever made that "Baby Seal" joke recently ruled. I have told that one a few times.
Posted: Feb 22, 2006 6:05 pm

<<Whoever made that "Baby Seal" joke recently ruled>>

Thank you, I'll be here all week.

WHAT THE FUCK WAS UP WITH GUADELUPE ON THE REUNION SHOW??????
Posted: Feb 23, 2006 4:19 pm

Oooops--won't see it til later this afternoon. Will comment later today or tomorrow (this is gonna kill me to stay away).

guadelupe was insane=i loved it! tim's response to her was awesome too....she's was like parker posey x 10!!!
Posted: Feb 23, 2006 6:39 pm

It sounded like she had taken a hanfull of pills and had one too many Cosmo's!

WHAT THE FUCK WAS UP WITH GUADELUPE ON THE REUNION SHOW??????

one too many free cocktails at the bar. she's the only one that like santino. go figure. Project Jay was super lame.
Posted: Feb 23, 2006 6:57 pm

Did Heidi Klum treat Jay like a little bitch like the NY Times said? Huh?
Posted: Feb 23, 2006 7:02 pm

it was pretty shitty of her to blow him off at the very last minute.
Posted: Feb 23, 2006 7:13 pm

no cable no mo
:(
Posted: Feb 23, 2006 7:34 pm

Ok, Heidi sux. But what can he expect from all those fashion bitches?
Posted: Feb 23, 2006 7:47 pm | Edited by: Matthew

oh fiery.
your words.
they hurt.
Heidi in the morning
Heidi in the evening
Heidi at suppertime
I hide beneath my Heidi-lanche.

I didn't watch the reunion.
Posted: Feb 23, 2006 8:38 pm

I wanna like her! Maybe I will side with her bitchyness after an hour of Jay's whining and self-loathing.
Posted: Feb 24, 2006 1:06 am

the reunion show was a drag except for guadulupe being totally wasted drunk.
Posted: Feb 24, 2006 5:06 am

being totally wasted drunk.

I was thnking more like crack....
Man. She was fucking OUT there....

Silence?
Obviously you've all been put to sleep by Daniel's new designs.

Dear Chloe,
Help!! Desparately seeking new look! I'm thinking something like Missy Elliot dressed like a Tampa Bay Buccaneer linebacker on the set of Golden Girls. Do-able? I believe you can make this happen. oooohh is that taffeta?!? Get at me, dawg!

I want Santino to win even if his designs are reminiscent of every dress in the closet of those 2 hippy-chicks you had it real bad for in high-school but they were all about dating seniors with 'small dicks' and big backseats. It smells like patchouly in here.
Posted: Mar 2, 2006 6:09 pm

When's the final?
Posted: Mar 2, 2006 6:28 pm

I think next week? unless they do a 2 parter.
Posted: Mar 2, 2006 8:41 pm

Two parter. I haven't even watched it yet--I am totally behind on all my "stories". I will report back tomorrow.
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 5:42 pm

So we finally watched...if you can come outta that episode not forgiving Santino a bit, then you have a heart of stone. I had no idea he was biracial. And anyone who acts that arrogant is obviously insecure as fuck. I love him.

And his designs were obviously the best from what I saw. I know some things were half done, but Daniel V's shit looked like some 70 year old board member of the Met wear with some 1975 macrame class purses and Chloe, well, what the hell is she up to? The dress she ended up with by the end was cute, of course, but she has no "collection vision". She just makes cute clothes.
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 5:55 pm

I feel like stabbing myslef for admitting this right now, but, I'm in for Santino [and not becuase of the episode].

I've been committed to DanV, cause he's pretty for the camera and the marketing machine and does good work, pleasant outlook........

BUT!! I dug really deep. Admittedly, I look forward to seeing what Santino has done each and every week. It IS his arrogance that makes me want to stab him. And although I agree w/ Heidi & the panel about him CONSISTENTLY ignoring the rules/constraints of the challenge........I still look forward to seeing his stuff. Maybe because it IS so unpredictable.
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 8:29 pm

Santino's totally going to win or else they wouldn't have tried so hard to show his sweet side. They want everyone to start rooting for him come the final episode. Granted, his collection looks the best out of the three so he does deserve to win even though general consensus is that Kara's collection ruled the runway. What the hell is up with Chloe's designs?? UG-LY!!

Oh yeah, did you know that that Santino's friend on that show was Tony Ward? He was Madonna's boytoy for a while and was in some amputee porn film with Bruce La Bruce called Hustler White.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116587/
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 8:34 pm

Man, I haven't heard the name Bruce La Bruce since I took this crazy queer film and video class in college... watching mutual masterbation 2 times a week with 20 strangers and then discussing it is priceless.
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 8:45 pm

I have a feeling a whole new can o' worms was just opened up...
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 8:55 pm

Dang. Not opened yet.
:-(
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 8:56 pm

Oh, I've got stories.... ever heard of a "suit case handle"
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 9:06 pm

Does it have something to do with the buttocks?
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 9:06 pm

Or maybe a mustache?
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 9:12 pm

Yes, in a way it does have something to do with the "buttocks"

You see a "suit case handle" is a term for what they do when you are going from female to male. They take a huge piece of skin off your ass and make a tube out of it. It is then attached to your "gyna" area and the other end is attached to your upper thigh so blood will flow and the body won't reject it, thus making a sort of anatomical "suit case handle"

which I, by the way, then saw used to fuck annie sprinkle. how the "dick" gets hard is a whole other story...

HHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You made me laugh so hard I was gasping for air.

GIVE THE MAN A PRIZE!
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 10:38 pm

Oh, and apparently my memory was wrong, they take the skin from the inner forearm...apparntly it's more penis like. (if you look up neophallis on google you'll find some shit in german but you will see the words "suitcase handle")
Posted: Mar 4, 2006 11:15 pm

Damn, Jack. You're so creative. That's way better than the window displays on PR...
(I didn't quite understand the concept either. But now I do!)
LisaLisa, you must have some fascinating cocktail party conversation!
Posted: Mar 8, 2006 3:09 am

Okay, I finally saw the first part of the finale. Man, I'm really in love with Santino. That's the cutest guy ever.
Posted: Mar 8, 2006 3:43 am

SEE?????

Santino comes off much, much, MUCH more sympathetic in that episode. I mean, like night and day. I love his competitive nature, but that gets under some people's skin cos he can be an upfront jerk...but you can't respond to those people all passive like the rest of those wuss designers did.

Go Santino!
Posted: Mar 8, 2006 4:16 am

And, in the show he might have been what some considered an asshole, but he was wicked funny. All that Red Lobster stuff was funny.
Anyway, I love him. I'm partial to tall guys with huge noses anyway. I do hope his collection isn't the one note rag stuff. Go Santino!

Chloe has eight sisters and was in an internment camp. How nuts is that?
Daniel comes off looking like the normal one of the bunch! Just a normal fey WASP guy...
Posted: Mar 8, 2006 4:27 am

I have seen it. If you wanna cheat, let me know and I will give you the links to all the shows.

Wild that Santino is half black too. Did you catch that? I had no idea til I saw the family photo.
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 2:28 am

Here we go...soon!
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 3:09 am

I have got 4 things to DVR tonight

*ANTM 1st episode
*Invasion
*Project Runway
*Top Chef (new one just after Project Runway--like a PR of chefs)

Ryan will go hide and play 1991 Nintendo NFL football during ANTM so maybe I will just watch it.
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 3:24 am

Daniel's was fairly boring, but very real woman wearable...Chic.

ANTM??? Oh Damn!!
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 3:29 am

Chloe's looks like we're regretably in the 1980s.
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 3:34 am

Oh man! Those Santino clothes really were beautiful! And not a duck tail of fabric on a single one!
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 3:36 am

Honestly, they were ALL boring as in no-high fashion.
And Chloe's was the least boring.
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 4:00 am

Well, I don't get it. I didn't like her clothes. My friend Grace said, "Well, remember she designs for all those Texas women..." That's what it looked like...DALLAS!!

Anyway, I'm kind of shocked. I'm going to see the Sonsabitches at the Hi-Tone.
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 4:04 am

Uh, Sherry...no Texas offense meant...
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 4:15 am

Agreed, Alisa. I mean if I could afford that shit, had somewhere to wear or even gave a fuck, I wouldn't choose her shit either...that bulky fabric 'is' so 80's, you're right.

But...just saying, of the three, I could see how hers worked more.
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 4:21 pm

LAME!

But I am fully into Top Chef now! Damn you, Bravo!
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 4:30 pm

That's funny, Chloe's was totally 'Dallas.' SuEllen would be proud.

Daniel's was atomically boring (except for his 13th look which was crazy hot).

Santino's were great. all of em. so much so that the criticism that they didn't fit so good was kinda not relevant to me. They looked fun and comfy and like a little left of center...nice work. he shoulda won.

FUCK!

I had TiVo-d it to watch tonight and was avoiding this thread and any place that might say who won. Then I went to the NY Times and it came up on their AP wire "Dao is Winner of Project Runway".

Disgusting.

it gets worse watch the final and review the work on the PR website gallery. Banana Republic obviously smokes a glass dick.
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 9:09 pm

If PR is to have any more validation, they need to change up a bit. Do a one year mentorship with Betsey Johnson. Or DKNY. Or KORS for gawd's sake. But if all this is truly getting to be about is getting someone to come and work for "free" at awful Banana Republic for a year, then fuck all. These kids don't want to end up as house designers for Nana, they wanna be their own thang.

I LOVE to count how many times the bravo reality shows name drop their sponsors. PR is nothing compared to Blow Out... the best was when Johnathan said to one of his clients..."Hey, look i just got these amazing glasses from PEARL VISION!" Yeah right!!!
Posted: Mar 9, 2006 9:39 pm

Oh yeah--all the reality shows are just nightmarish with the product placement. Survivor and their Pontiac monstronsity of the season is always hilarious. I wonder if they have to give them speed to pump them up to be excited about winning an Aztek.

I have to admit that nothing really impressed me but there were a few nice pieces here and there. My friend was rooting for Daniel so she could buy that white coat in a couple years at deep discount. I can't remember who's it was but I ran home and started digging through some old clothes looking for an old Burger King outfit 'cause the was one that looked just like it! Shit brown with puffy arms -- all it need was the puffy hat!

My friend was telling me that she read some interview about Tim Gunn's tragic love life. It sounded sad and pathetic which is too bad because he is so great. This is from the PR website.

Ha. Ha. All the judges wanted to fuck Daniel. That's why he didn't win. He didn't need to. Michael Kors was saying to him at the end "you can come and work for me anytime!!!"

And poor Santino. His only friends and family that bothered to come see his big show was his mother.

We are watching it as soon as Ryan watches his taped Mich State-Purdue game.

Speaking of the items, they end up auctioning them on the Bravo site or at least they dad last year. Someone auctioned Kara Janx's badass Obi wrap dress she was wearing the night she was booted on eBay and it went for some big bux. Kara's runway show was fantastic.

Fantastic Jay quote:

Naturally, Jay McCarroll offers the funniest and most outrageous advice; for example, he suggests a break-up be remedied with “Anonymous sex. … I don’t care if you’re sixty-one. I’m horny. You’ve got a mouth and I have a dick to shove in it.”

He says that he has, in fact, had sex with show groupies: “I’ve been in a situation where they’re like, ‘Wait a minute, are you that guy from Runway Project?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I have your dick in my mouth right now. Let’s talk about this after you come.’ True story.”

Yay! And I'm excited!

Now Lost!

But I'm bummed a little cause I'm interested in watching the -- uuuhh--- nightmares and somethingoranother program thing -- uuuhh --shit -- Steven King? that premiers at the same time on another channel. No Tivo and too dumb to do that record another channel thing....

So was that one guy Tim Gunn's son?? Tim was all, "Ohhh, I like him." Well DUH -- he's you!!!

And that faux British modster guy is baaaad news. I'm calling it now.

My co-worker just told me that she watched the tryouts/casting call/rejects/losers/whatever show last night? And that Jay was on the panel and others [she didn't know who].

Grrrrrrrr! I thought it was supposed to air tonight before the season premier. I was looking forward to it.

Fuck. Who else was on the panel?
Was it fun at all?

Hey Sherry, it's on tonight before the show too! I missed most of it last night so I'll for sure be tuning in!

Thanks, babe. The Time Warner Cable Austin on-line program listing just says Project Runway ALL day.

But I thought I done-did see the ad for thissy-here show saying it would air tonight before the premier.

Yes. I am gay. It's true.

Man, I just finished watching the runway show of the last 3 from last cycle, and SANTINO GOT ROBBED!!! Daniel's were so boring, Chloe's were really "Dallas" ugly, and Santino had just beautiful clothes! wtf???
Posted: Jul 13, 2006 8:21 am

I know, Santino's really were the most beautiful in general, although some of Chloe's were amazing if you look at how intricate the seam patterns were on some of those dresses. I think they liked her personality the best, and the fact that she was a businessperson already.

Well, what did everyone think of the Season 3 debut?
Posted: Jul 13, 2006 1:26 pm

The "weirdo" hat guy's stuff sucked and I think he's annoying. La Dolce Vita faux-Brit guy is this season's "bad boy". I'm putting my money on the one guy with the squarish glasses & he's kinda big but not fat but not muscular. Sorry, but I can't remember names and don't have time to look them up right now.
Posted: Jul 13, 2006 2:05 pm | Edited by: flesheater99

Weird. you think that guy's gonna win? talk about dark horse.

Personally I love the old guy. He's like a more street Jim J Bullock(of the upper left square) and he definitely adds personality to the cast (even though his design was retardaire).

FalseBrit/Taiwanese(yeah right) guy is up to something...Tim better watch his back.

Lots of good looks. too early to make predictions for me. but I like the guy who won, Hoody/neck-tat guy, and kee-yoote bleachie-girl.
Posted: Jul 13, 2006 3:02 pm

Seriously. My horse in this race, my black brother Michael, got robbed. HIs was beautiful and THEEE most clever. Coffee filters, man! Coffee filters. C'mon. He was ROBBED!

The winner used a bed sheet [who I KNOW is going to be one arrogant MF]. And as Tim suggested to him during construction -- not innovattive enough -- try adding something. Then. Ridiculous, stupid, idiot old hat guy got a pass and chic was eliminated, specifically, for not being innovative enough by using a sheet and shower cutrtain. Please.

However. I was going to fucking lose it if Jefferey, Hoody/neck-tat guy, was eliminated. I wanna see what he does not to mention having someone a little rock-n-roll on there.

FalseBrit/Taiwanese(yeah right) guy is up to something.....he's one creeeeeeee-pee MF.

I loved last season, the low amount of drama [compared to 1st season] and respect -- and FUN -- they appeared to be having with each other. I think this season is gonna be D, D, D!
Posted: Jul 13, 2006 3:06 pm

And Michael's from ATLANTA!
Posted: Jul 13, 2006 3:45 pm

I like the brother, too. Yep, and his coffee filter dress. He and little cutie-pie blondie both seemed pretty normal about the whole thing, unlike the veritable RASH of "characters" this season. That blonde girl is beeyootiful, and I usually don't find blondes all that attractive.
I liked the girl from Ohio, too, but I can't remember her dress.

I think that guy that khan is talking about is Robert Best - the guy that designs for Barbie. I like him, too. Apparently the panel all knew him.

The old, weird guy (Vincent) is sad to watch. I feel sorry for him...he was just pathetic.

"Taiwan" guy incites me to go find a red hot poker and ram it up his ass. Or worse.

So, what happened about the teaser they've been playing all week? Like they were going to kick someone off the show?

Taiwan" guy incites me to go find a red hot poker and ram it up his ass.

I'm growing these in my garden!

I forgot about the tattoo-neck guy. This season's Santino.

I think Michael's got it going on too. Plus, I applaud him for coming in with his interpretations of last season's assignments.
Posted: Jul 13, 2006 5:32 pm

I'm on the Robert Best bandwagon too. He should've won last night. Or Michael.

The chick who got eliminated totally deserved it, she couldnt even use a friggin' sewing machine. Plus, she made grannie panties.

Tattoo-neck guy's shit is just like Santino's, except not as talented. He seems like a nice dude though. The Kevin guy that won last night is going to be this season's asshole. Blonde chick is SUPER cute. And what's up with the manly redhead with the giant breastbone? SCARY.
Posted: Jul 13, 2006 6:08 pm

He seems like a nice dude though. This guy is THE WORST! I loathe him and his rock and roll attitude.

I reallt like the coffee filter dress black guy. Also the crazy guy with the bad hat seems crazy. I bet his wife serves him with divorce papers before the season is through.

Agreed

And what's up with the manly redhead with the giant breastbone? SCARY.

Cruella DeVille?? She's got like 8 kids??? Can you say $$$ cha-ching $$$? She's GOT to be soooo rich. I think I shall refer to her from now on as the Fabulous Moola.

It was the one with the leather skirt and the model who walked like she had a stick up her ass.

I thought Michael's coffee filter dress was totally FAB! I was pissed that he didn't win.

Agreed with all of you on the other stuff... I thought the Harvard MBA who couldn't actually use the sewing machine deserved to get canned. She was clearly there to create conflict and not because of actual talent. The guy who won the challenge, however... I thought his dress was boring and he was an asshole.

She is so frighteningly obviously NOT in need of funds. I do like her style, though. It's got that early 60's movie star thing going on...

She is so frighteningly obviously NOT in need of funds. I do like her style, though. It's got that early 60's movie star thing going on...

Some highlights from her bio and Q&A:
"Born and raised in New Orleans and currently living in Manhattan, Laura Bennett, 42, has come a long way. In the past, Laura was a single mother who struggled to make ends meet. Now the matriarch of a large family, she has never given up on her dream of becoming a great designer."

"Question: When did you first start to design clothes?

Laura: I have always sewn. My mom was a sewing teacher at a chain of sewing stores. The "stretch and sew" knits is what she specialized in. I've had a sewing machine in my room since I was 10 years old. I started from "stretch and sew" "

"Question: Do you have any formal design training?

Laura: I went to Univ. of Houston and studied architecture and got a graduate degree at Columbia in architecture. Only made clothes as a hobby in the past. I'm an architect, working for my husband. I'm sleeping with the boss. I have five children"

I missed all of two weeks of PR discussion here whilst lounging on the beach (or was it "lost at sea"?)--great chat,y'all. LOVED the coffee filter dress too. Hate the CANNOT EVEN SKETCH Ohio witch--Angela?--partnered with Crazy Man. I did not watch yet cos husband always crashes early on Wednesdays cos he opens. I'll post my epinions tomorrow eve.

Also love richie Architect redhead. She looks like an East 70's version of an S&M dungeoness.

Can't believe that fucking freak w/ the glasses got a pass w/ no bulshit called on his absolute nothing --nothing at all-- NOTHING AT ALL fucking black dress w/ black tights. Seriously. Watch the re-runs. I don;t get it. And I don't get birthday boy getting a pass either. She had a fucking golden bubble on her upper half that was UUUglee -- and they said very smart things about it. I don't get it.

And I want to see LA rocker advance; I'm interested. He may be whatever, but he still has a pretty-fucking cool career that he didn't acquire by 'just' be a LA rocker poser-dood.

Khan, Heidi called with the following...

Khan, it seems you haf some goot ideas but maybe eef you speent more time concentrating on yer models and liss time drinking Meeler Lite you will achief top hunners here on Pruhject Runway.

As much as it pains me to say it I think Kayne is an early favorite. Not crazy about the pageantry but homes throws together some solid and daring stuff.

Please please get rid of Angela. Your only delaying the inevitable. 2 weeks in a row she's worn a ridiculous poofy miniskirt that on it's own would be made fun of on any given street corner. She's worse than Vince...but at least Vince has a dufus charm.

Keith, your a total dick...and your my favorite. Carry on.

Katherine, you got kicked off b/c you made your dog look homeless. good job.

richie Architect redhead--I'm afraid she's a one trick pony...we shall see.

Not only that, but it appears to be the only idea she has! Her model was wearing practically the same skirt as her this week. Oh! And I thought it was hilarious when the judges said it made her look like a streetwalker.

oh no he di-int!

I heard the winner passed out after she won.
Posted: Jul 27, 2006 4:48 pm

Okay, I'm pretty much agreeing with everything said here. Especially
Hate the CANNOT EVEN SKETCH Ohio witch--Angela?-- this and all other comments about her. Yeah, we're starting to question her "taste". UGH!!!
And Sherry,
freak w/ the glasses got a pass w/ no bulshit called on his absolute nothing --nothing at all-- NOTHING AT ALL fucking black dress w/ black tights. Seriously.
NO KIDDING! I thought the very same thing. I kind of like watching him because he's so weird, though. He was soooo freaking excited about the dog's hat!
Keith annoys the piss out of me.
I agree also about pretty girl's dress last night.
I do like Shayne, still like Robert Best. Also Uli, who won the challenge last night. I hate leopard print but thought it was used in a good way. I liked the back of that dress a lot.
Posted: Jul 27, 2006 4:48 pm

the judges said it made her look like a streetwalker.--called a ho by Ivanka Trump, no less.
Posted: Jul 27, 2006 5:37 pm

Haven't seen it yet, but gotta keep chattin'. I'm not even really reading your posts yet so it isn't entirely ruined.

Oh yes, Santino Rice judged Miss Universe. What killed me is they had that awful most famous queer from Queer Eye doing the "ha ha" catty commentary. It was embarrassing. Santino would have KILLED. I am sure they didn't trust him though, but I am sure they were on a 6 second delay.
Posted: Jul 27, 2006 5:47 pm

So, who's the fucker that's getting kicked off next week for a serious breach of rules? Keith seems like he wouldn't let something like rules get in his way, so it's probably not him.

And what about that one wallflower? Bonnie, I think it is. She has been anonymous so far. I can't recall ever hearing her voice. And after the first episode Michael has been running below radar.

Here's a funny snippet from Tattoo Boy's bio. "Jeff supported himself by adorning leather and denim jackets with patches for his father's San Bernardino County chapter of the Hell's Angels."

I think Angela will stick around a bit longer than everyone thinks. She has somehow survived the last couple of episodes, and all the other designers hate her, especially Keith, so I think they'll want to keep her for dramatic purposes.
Posted: Jul 27, 2006 5:58 pm

I heard (yeah it was complete internet weirdness conjecture) it will be KEITH.

Let me know if you wanna know why.

i wanna know!

OK, on Defamer or some site, some extreme fashion fanatic posted these pics of sketches that he submitted with his audition portfolio AND photos from Lacoste and (I think) Chloe runway shows (Spring) that were DEFINITELY inspiration for the sketches. Well, not just inspiration, let's just go ahead and say he traced the bitches.

Sadly, I think you're right on that one. The producers do seem to tend to keep the ones everyone hates around for drama.

I heard (yeah it was complete internet weirdness conjecture) it will be KEITH.

Let me know if you wanna know why.

I want to know why! What rule could they have broken?? The only things I can think of are: having someone else ghost sew your projects over night; sex &/or drugs in that hotel; or talking about the show to outsiders during taping...
Posted: Jul 27, 2006 6:26 pm

Well, not just inspiration, let's just go ahead and say he traced the bitches.

That makes sense, because his dresses have been quite good considering that on the first show he said he had never made a dress before, having been exclusively in menswear.
Posted: Jul 27, 2006 6:29 pm

See above, Jahna. I don't know if it is legit, but if those were his sketches, they were DEFINITELY copied.

I have no idea where and when you will die. Maybe it is on www.socialitelife.com
Posted: Jul 27, 2006 6:42 pm

Of course, this could all be a ruse to generate interest in the show, and really somebody else gets kicked off. This seems too easy.

Wow!!! You're 100% right. But wouldn't the judges have caught that in the portfolio review, I mean, isn't Nina a fashion editor?

We'll see. I can't wait to see Tim Gunn tell whoever it is to get out!

Me, too. Even if you know the outcome (which you're right, it *is* speculation), the main joy of watching this show is all the flaming catty-ness!

I'm probably not going to get to watch until midnight, 'cause I'm going to pick TK up at the PATH station at 10 or so.

Yes! Funny, though... I wonder how interesting the rest of the season will be now that the bad guy is gone... OR? WHo do you think will step up to the plate as the new ass-wipe of the bunch? My guess is tattoo boy.
Posted: Aug 3, 2006 4:31 pm

So how come the rumor on the internet and the real reason he got kicked didn't match up? The real reason was even lamer...standard design books? What a let down. Fucker didn't even put up a fight or cause drama. HYPE.
Posted: Aug 3, 2006 4:39 pm

WHo do you think will step up to the plate as the new ass-wipe of the bunch?
She's already there...Angela!
Yeah, no drama...Hmm.
Posted: Aug 3, 2006 4:52 pm

ANGELA!!!!!

She is more annoying than anyone on any reality show going on right now. You know the only reason their design won was b/c of Bad Mommy and Michael. Her "signature rossettes"????? I wish I could have seen Nina Garcia's face when she said that.

Best line of the night:

"We tink yohre outfeet a total bohre."
Posted: Aug 3, 2006 4:54 pm

And I think we'll see Kayne step up as a snitchy bitchass. He already was so self-righteous and smug re: Keith.
Posted: Aug 3, 2006 4:57 pm

"eet's stale."
Posted: Aug 3, 2006 5:03 pm

Angela is freaking wack. I want to hit her. Comb your hair, bitch!
I really do like Michael, and I like Bad Mommy too. I am, however, getting sick of these collaborative challenges. It makes it hard to see what each one can do.
Next to go? Bradley, of course.
I like Barbie Man, but that thing last night was hideous.
Posted: Aug 3, 2006 5:10 pm

I wonder how interesting the rest of the season will be

Well you can always go watch Big Brother or some horse-shit like that for the apparent drama you seek.

Watching PR blows my mind how they are given a challenge, they [usually] have ONLY 30 minutes to design/sketch something and an hour to purchase fabric and......

That\'s why I watch....I am fascinated [and jealous] by their awesome talent.

I love Bradley...but he ain't PR material. He is an artiste.

I really liked Keith's idea and am glad they pulled it off...not really a fan of those skinny pants with the little tuxedo buttons and slit at the ankle tho, not for me. The high-waisted wide-legged trouser is more my style.

Barbie dude, I mean, REALLY! That ensemble was disgusting. That jacket was menopausal tourist circa 1989.
