Mick Collins told me once that The Gories had some of the best shows they ever played in Utah. I guess where there aren't any black people who play R&B it's a real treat once in a while for at least some kids.

What stopover town are you talking about?

provo

its so wierd but there is a pretty active little punk/H.C. scene here.
i played a show saturday that included a rocknroll band, a thrash band, a hard rock band and some metal core. about 150 people showed up. the kids are into variety i guess.

I'm sure 140 of those kids were there for the metalcore band.

kids do seem to love metalcore.

everybody came for everybody else.. like six bands played and when the last band...the metalcore band...played there were only about 30 people there

we opened and played for about 60-80

its not too bad...most of the kids that come to the shows are local kids..meaning 17-25 yr olds...i'm usually the oldest person there at a whopping 28

Just an old buddy. Originally form SLC but spent a bunch of time up here in the Northwest. He plays guitar & banjo on the street corner and collects records & stuff. Last I heard he was living in Provo but he's probably pretty reclusive.
