Blair's family treats me pretty darn well. This year, they
got me some great stuff!

Two pairs of classic sneakers:

The Bruce Lee tai-chi shoe
http://www.classicsportsshoes.com/asi-70683.html

and Mexico 66 running shoe
http://www.classicsportsshoes.com/asi-73201.html

a bunch of cool CD's (yes, I already have all of this stuff on vinyl, but
having the CD's will make it easier for me to listen to these old
favorites!)

Hank Williams, "The Ultimate Collection"
Hank Williams, "20 Greatest Hits" (looks like it might have all the same
songs as the Ultimate Collection... I haven't cracked the seal on this one yet just in case)
Dusty Springfield, "The Very Best Of Dusty Springfield"
Creedence Clearwater Revival, "Chronicle"
Aretha Franklin, "I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You"
Otis Redding, "Otis Blue"

AND a cool book:

"Tiki Road Trip: A Guide to Tiki Culture in North America" by James
Teitelbaum

I'm doing a happy dance right now (in my Bruce Lee shoes!)

I hope you had a good haul, too.

Hugs,

Jahna

3. DVDs of "Rashomon" and "Throne of Blood" by Akira Kurosawa.
4. The whole DVD set of the films of Charles and Ray Eames.
5. A $270 bonus from my work.
6. A wooden chest with assorted board games.
7. A small book titled "50 things you're not supposed to know".
8. A CD by Nic Armstrong whom I'd never heard yet and who's marketed as blues but sounds more like a pretty good update of british invasion.
9. Some candy and ten bucks from Grandma.
10. A bottle of wine which I only got a taste of.

Of course... what I gave is more important than what I got.

That "Films of Charles and Ray Eames" box set sounds amazing. I didn't even know that existed 'til right now.
Posted: Dec 26, 2005 8:20 pm

bob, i like that book pretty good. you moving to kalamazoo soon?
Posted: Dec 26, 2005 8:28 pm

I think you used to have to get the Eames' films seperately and for a time they were hard to find except through universities. I don't know where my girlfriend got these but it's the complete collection with an intro by Gregory Peck. I'm sure it's pretty easy to find through Amazon or on e-bay or at your local design-snobs-are-us retailer.

my Christmas was -- weird. my bro, sis-in-law, and the baby didn't come, so it was just me and the folks. Daddy (AKA Santa) wrapped presents in Walgreen's bags. I got billy bob teeth, a shirt, a box for photos, and some stationery (don't really mind the lean year, as my daddy just helped renovate my house) -- but the weird thing is my mama got a bunch of bath stuff, and my dad gave her a bottle of KY -- neither of them knew what it's really for. I wanted to say something, but I was too busy laughing my ass off!
Posted: Dec 26, 2005 10:37 pm

whoah.
Posted: Dec 26, 2005 10:41 pm

yep.

she was like "oooh, it says it's for all body parts! want some?"

other highlight -- after eating a buncha gumbo, we put on mardi gras wigs (my folks have a float in the local boat parade) and chunked beads at my dad while he was trying to watch football... he didn't appreciate the joke but for some reason we thought we were hilarious!

I'm completely psyched! I don't care if they are collectible - I wanted them to wear and fully intend to do so!

Oh, and did I mention? They are so comfortable - it's like wearing leather gloves for your feet. Mmmm...

The state of the United States. It's now a law that men can't wear pants and women can't wear tops. Kids must hold onto their father's penis as a leash.

Oh, and did I mention? They are so comfortable - it's like wearing leather gloves for your feet. Mmmm...

I'm gonna buy some! I swear to god! Goodbye Chuck Taylors and Vans... Actually, I've worn the same Cons for 3 years and have a new pair of Vans in the closet but I want some of these. Hello BRUCE LEE!

My wife got me three pairs of these adidas ProModel hi-top shelltoes for Chanukkah/xmas/festivus.

http://www.final-score.com/catalog/productdetail.cfm?TID=6451-13270513 200413131233717-0&module=productDetail&action=view&sku=103612&model_nb r=53677&supercat=home&id=0&mvp=

She got me red with white stripes, white with red, and black with white.
I already had navy blue with white hi-tops. For lows, I have the patent leather superstar model in gold with white, black with silver, and silver with white. Don't bother looking for those patent leather low-tops. They're "out of print."

"me and my Adidas do the illest things

we slay all suckers who perpetrate
and lay down law from state to state"

FIERY-
All I have made so far were some vanilla cookies, but that thing does amazing things. There are all kinds of attachements, like ravioli makers and juciers. I really want to start making breads. My aunt gave me all the bakeware too, I am all set. And when I am done i can put my smelly clothes in this steam thing that hemants mom got us, it is just as great as the mixer, because after we go out we can come home and get the smoke out of our clothes.

I got an electric guitar - left handed, of course! it's an epiphone les paul standard! whoo hoo!

And also memory for my 'puter. It's so freaking fast now. My boyfriend spoils me.

Lula - aren't you a skinny? why do you need a scale?

yeah, but I quit smoking and outgrew my size 0s so I'm kinda obsessive compulsive about it. My metabolism went from "able to live on doritos with no weight change" to "eat an apple, gain a pound" overnight. But I smoked like 3 packs a day.

There are some freaky chickens out there.

Where did this come from??
