can anybody recommend good shops in montreal (record, guitar, clothing, etc.) ?

Sonik records on the corner of Duluth and Berri is easily the best store to check out.

Also good are some stores like Beatnik and Primitive on St.-Denis near Rachel. It's all in the the same neighbourhood. Have fun!

Get a smoked meat sandwich from Schwartz's and you'll never want to leave Montreal.

If you have some money to spend and you want something hand made and unique there was a store right down the street from Casa Del Popolo (a good club with healthy food and great beer). The store was caled pre-loved, cool clothes made out of old clothes, designs were pretty slick and the store has bands play there once and a while.

i wanna go to montreal..........eat some poutine and i second the smoked meat sandwich from schwartz's!! oh, and get mark to take you to the church where celine dion got married!

thanks everybody for replying. it was just a quick daytrip with family, so i didn't have much time to go exploring, but i appreciate the recommendations.

uhleeshuh, that shop sounds great, wish i could have made it over there...

april, i did have some poutine! sooooo good, especially because it was about 5 degrees outside with the wind chill.

appreciate the e-mail address/hospitality mark. maybe next time...
