does anyone from memphis remember the time the guys in false facade stapled their flyers all over the upside down wooden cross some other west memphis metal band had onstage at the antenna? they did it mid-show -- big, big cajones!
Posted: Nov 15, 2005 10:33 pm

and what took the place of big daddys, cort? i got thrown out of there on my birthday for trying to smash a bowling ball into the concession stand -- pills and jack taylor (r.i.p.) were involved...

One can't forget the late 90s Bulls "Pasty Boys" white center rotation of Will Perdue, Bill Wennington and Luc Longley.

The Didjits (not Gaza Strippers, though)
God Bullies
The Jewws
Ann's Cafe (On Fruitvale Ave. in Oakland. Open from 1950-2000, this was the best restaurant EVER. You got all of this for $6: Soup, sourdough cheese toast, a massive pile of homefries, a pancake the size of an LP, a 4lb. omelette, and a cupcake for dessert. It was all beyond delicious and it had "atmosphere" coming out the ass. They should've made a documentary about that place. The day it closed in 2000 was the saddest day of my life)

I'm glad others miss False Facade, too.

I was there. I thought that was a national act. Can't remember who. It was a beautiful moment.

False Facade...the New Wave of Heavy Metal. This was on a business card they gave me at Cat's Records one day. An artifact for the ages.

Add Matt Bullard to that list. That guy was in my class at High School. He's the only jock I can remember from my school that didn't bust my stones on an everyday basis. For that, I must give him some props. He recently lost out to Dee Brown to be an NBA analyst on ESPN.

And don't forget 7'6" Mormon shot-blocker Sean Bradley. He was so gangly and non-graceful, he made Manute Bol look like Baryshnikov.

I didn't much like Jonesboro, but I miss Memphis. Also, my 77 Chevy Nova. Sigh.
