French Quarter Suites are very close to the Hi Tone, here's some info

from http://www.memphisfrenchquarter.com/html/rooms.html

The French decor in each room is highlighted by celing fans and warm pastel colors. Louvered walls and doors separate spacious living areas and bedrooms. French doors and wrought iron balconies surround the hotel with access from many of the guest rooms.

The hotel's plush accommodations include two-room suites or one-room maisonette suites. All suites feature either a king or two queen-sized beds plus spacious bathrooms. Each of the two-room suites is more than 500 square feet and features a living room with a wet bar. Each 400 square foot maisonette features a living area with bar and refrigerator.

Double-sized whirlpool tub in each suite
Complimentary in-room coffee
Cable TV and HBO

Sunday - Thursday
Maisonette Suites $89.00
Two-Room Suites $99.00
Friday - Saturday
Maisonette Suites $109.00
Two-Room Suites $119.00
$10 charge for each additional guest over two.
also close to the hi tone (if you're planning on walking around town, you can save on the car rental, at least), is this Ramada Inn at Mclean and Union.
http://unitedstates.biz/tn/memphis/hotels/ramada-inn-midtown-tn108295.html Rooms start around 90 bucks, here, too.

Plus, if you get the right room, you can jump from your balcony into the swimming pool. 2nd OR 3rd floor!
