Wow -- this takes the place of the Blackout Memorial Weekend in Chicago -- pretty cool.

Monday, May 28th - paid holiday for some (mee!)!
Posted: Feb 27, 2007 5:20 pm
You coming down Sherry?
Posted: Feb 27, 2007 5:30 pm
Sounds AWESOME - never been to Florida - NASA!

Only thing that would stop me is vacation hours, babe -- since I'm exhausting them ALL during SXSW :-(

SOunds REALLY rad, though -- especially a beach party -- I would be DEAD after that shit for sure (fun!).

Cool you got Wax Museums!
Sooo happy there are SOME bands transferring outta Texas these days.
Posted: Feb 27, 2007 8:09 pm
they have our "Blackout Blessing" for sure on this one!
Posted: Feb 27, 2007 8:18 pm
hey that's right no blackout this year. it will hardly seem like memorial day without bodies covering every piece of floor space in my apartment.
Posted: Feb 27, 2007 8:56 pm
bodies covering every piece of floor space in my apartment.

Or -- falling all over them.
Posted: Feb 27, 2007 9:29 pm
I noticed on your myspace page that you state, "No This isn't an actual wet Tshirt contest!" My question to you, sir, is, "Why not?"
Posted: Feb 27, 2007 10:16 pm
you should make it a dry t-shirt contest and then just have everyone spill beerths everywhere and see who comes out driest. Fly Ernie Q out to film it!
Posted: Feb 28, 2007 5:24 am
never been to Florida.
so, I'll be bringing the ban sole.
Posted: Feb 28, 2007 6:08 am
There is no wet t shirt contest lined up at this point, but I already found three willing contestants. you just need to understand, when you call a wet t-shirt contest in FLorida its serious business. Like dueling someone in texas
Posted: Feb 28, 2007 8:13 am
by the way - what's the nearest airport to the fest?
Posted: Feb 28, 2007 1:45 pm
by the way - what's the nearest airport to the fest?

Orlando International, 20 or so minutes from downtown.
Posted: Feb 28, 2007 2:31 pm

Dan Melchior

Jacuzzi Boys
Posted: Feb 28, 2007 3:46 pm
looks like FUN!
Posted: Feb 28, 2007 3:49 pm
hey kevin e/valery/drunken noodle, ATL to FLA road trip?
Posted: Feb 28, 2007 3:50 pm
When you say "I already found three willing contestants", are they male or female contestants. Cause that would be some fucked up shit to have a bunch of dudes in a wet tshirt contest. Like , Memphis' version of a "dunk tank" was a drunk hick in a kiddie pool with some eels. L.A.M.E.

Like , Memphis' version of a "dunk tank" was a drunk hick in a kiddie pool with some eels. L.A.M.E.

You're still sore about not getting dunked, aren't you? You shoulda got your ass in the pool.
And if I remember correctly Eric and Zac did everything in their power to find not only a dunk tank, but other games; however, short notice during the fair, all anyone could ask for to produce is a drunk in a pool to throw live eels at.
Posted: Mar 1, 2007 12:53 am
fear not the 3 are all girls. two of them even have boobs
Posted: Mar 1, 2007 1:02 am
i think someone wants to throw his electric eel at them
Posted: Mar 1, 2007 1:26 am
If it's really that serious...

Like dueling someone in texas

then you should definitely call it. You'll have girls lined up around the block by May.
Posted: Mar 1, 2007 1:27 am
i think someone wants to throw his electric eel at them

AND I will bring eels if anyone even remotely hints that I should.
Posted: Mar 14, 2007 4:24 pm
all the airlines tickets have been bought. these will be Fe Fi Fo Fums and Haunted Georges only east coast shows. The tickets are all printed up and now for sale on both floridasdying.com in the catalog section and on the wet tshirt myspace page. Still working out a few day shows, and waiting on confirmation for two more night show bands. This weekend is going to be a blast. Ive found cheap airline tickets through airtran, but act fast.
also if you go to islands of adventure while you are here ride the Hulk and the Popeye water ride. We are planning a big trip to islands of adventure on Monday May 28.

heres a list of area motels that are cheap and really close if not in downtown.

Travel Lodge Orlando Downtown
409 N. Magnolia Ave
407 423 1671
rooms for two $54.90
this place is your best bet. Its in walking distance of Back Booth where both Friday and Sundays show will be. Plus they have an outdoor pool.

Sheraton Orlando Downtown Hotel
60 S. Ivanho Blvd
407 425 4455
room for two $83.00
a little further from Backbooth but still only a mile away. This is a really nice hotel and reasonably priced for what it is. pool, hot tub, tennis courts, sun deck

room for two $80.10
still under two miles from Backbooth

Days Inn Orlando Downtown.

Still really close to the bar but its a little rougher area of town. Lots of gay bars, strip clubs, and liqour stores in the area.

and finally heres a list of some more bizarre area attractions
Holy Land- A christian theme park with no rides but daily crucifictions, and a giant Jerusalem

Gatorland- a 100 plus acre gator preserve with a giant open mouthed gator head as the entrance. totally cool

then on I drive they have a Ripleys Believe it or Not, Skull Kingdom and a million other crappy tourist traps, but its always a fun time. oh yeah we have a million water parks and mini golf places
Posted: Mar 16, 2007 10:59 pm
I always said I'd never go to Orlando, but I gotta say this is tempting.
Posted: Mar 17, 2007 12:08 am
whatever. Florida is awesome. I've lived here my whole life and Ive traveled around and the only other place I'd live is Milwaukee, but it gets to cold. This is right before summer gets real brutal as well. I cant wait for this weekend. Its about time my home state gets some respect
Posted: Mar 17, 2007 12:09 am
besides you people are spoiled. I've even gone to cleveland to see bands I wanted to see. Cleveland?
Posted: Mar 17, 2007 12:15 am
and tell me one other city where you could ride a roller coaster, stare at gators eating meat, and watch jesus get crucified all in one day. And then when thats done you could go see Haunted George. Man if that isnt a day. Does anyone elses cat love to get inside their refrigerator. Ive gotten up to get a beer twice today and when I opened the door she was inside.
Posted: Mar 21, 2007 1:42 am
Scrip+s day show? Chad?
Posted: Mar 21, 2007 5:42 pm
Well. Everything's reserved, purchased and flight booked!
And I got a NON-STOP from Austin on Southwest for $295 instead of $400!

Sweet! Look out, Florida!
I'm gonna be all up in yo shit!

But there goes the laptop I need REALLY bad :-(
Posted: Mar 21, 2007 6:14 pm
is there really a wet t-shirt contest? or are you just calling it that? Haunted George and I were wondering.
Posted: Mar 21, 2007 11:42 pm
its a possibility. I wanted to give the weekend a real Florida Spring Break name, and that was that, but we are looking into making a wet t shirt contest a reality.
Posted: Mar 21, 2007 11:42 pm
Yeah Sherry I saw you bought a ticket last night. See ya in May
Posted: Mar 22, 2007 12:49 am
hey kevin e/valery/drunken noodle, ATL to FLA road trip?

got my ticket. see you guys there! travis is coming too.
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 5:03 pm
I predict LiveFastDie will win the "wet t-shirt contest". I'm looking forward to this. My Turn!
Posted: Mar 24, 2007 6:56 pm
If LieFastDie is in the wet T-shirt contest, then I predict I will NOT be in attendance.

Posted: Mar 26, 2007 8:12 pm
HEY HEY! what is the public transportation like down there? info pleeeeze!
Posted: Mar 26, 2007 9:59 pm
The public transportation sucks in Orlando. Lynx is the bus line and some of the major lines only run once every two hours.
Posted: Mar 26, 2007 11:13 pm
you wont really need publci transportation if you stay at the travel lodge downtown except for saturday night, but you will most likely be able to get a ride with someone from the day show to the night show
Posted: Mar 26, 2007 11:14 pm
oh and most lines out of downtown run between every 30 to 45 minutes
Posted: Mar 28, 2007 8:05 pm

there will also be a BBQ sunday, and I have rented a party bus to take everyone from the Saturday day show to the Saturday night show. It will be $5 to take the bus but it will be stocked with a keg and no one will have to worry about a DUI. I think this will probably end up being the most fun weekend of my life. Hey Sherry. Word is that you have a couple of rooms reserved at the Travel Lodge. Is this true? Trey mentioned on Termibore that you may have reserved one for the Carbonas already. I'm trying to look where to reserve rooms for us... think we need at least three, but when I try to reserve rooms online there, they're all booked up. Was looking into the Days Inn now. Let me know what you got before I make reservations elsewhere.
Posted: Apr 13, 2007 2:13 am
Trey mentioned on Termibore
Whatta fag.

But I did! I did! So I'm gayyer.

I wanted to make sure my favorite form of entertainment (Carbonerz et al) werz done close to me!! So yeah. Indeed, I reserved an extra room for thems/ya'lls and planned to share mine (as well as the cost) wit spill-over bonerz/chums (with mandatory but plugz).

Lemme know, Ms Lovely!

can you smoke indoors in florida?
Posted: May 1, 2007 6:30 am
Posted: May 3, 2007 3:39 pm
Yes you can smoke inside most places. At the saturday day show you have to step outside though because its a bowling alley and they serve food. Seems totally weird to me that you cant smoke at a bowling alley, but thats the way it is. THe bowling alley lounge is the coolest bar in orlando in my opinion. Sundays day show will be at Crooked Bayou. They serve food but I dont think the kitchen is going to be open so smoking should be allowed.
Posted: May 4, 2007 5:18 pm

isn't there some white trash gator farms there?
Posted: May 17, 2007 5:53 pm
Great so I sound like a woman.
Yeah there is gatorland. Kind of out there but the entrance way is a giant open gator mouth. About 6 months ago the place caught on fire and they had footage on the news of this giant open gator mouth engulfed in flames. Wish I could have seen it in person.
Posted: May 17, 2007 6:20 pm
Other fun things nobody's mentioned yet:

1. Thrift stores. The old person/indie-asshole ratio is like 100-1, so there are lots of great clothes for cheap.

2. Club Harem. Tittie bar shaped like two titties. Used to be called "The Booby Trap."

3. New Smyrna Beach. 40 minutes away. There's this bar and grille called The Breakers that has cheap Sex on the Beach drinkies and cheap sea-bar-food, so drink up, eat up, swim in the ocean, get a nice lobstery yankee tourist tan, then get back to O-do to see the music.

4. Rich, is Jai-Alai still happening?

Anyway. I can't wait. Oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah.
Posted: May 17, 2007 6:32 pm
Great so I sound like a woman.

Adn you look like one too! Hee=Haw!

1. Thrift stores.
Tittie bar shaped like two titties.
New Smyrna Beach.

Yes. Yes. And yes.
Please take me.
Posted: May 17, 2007 7:51 pm
Where are the best thrift stores and antique/vintage stores?
Posted: May 17, 2007 8:03 pm
I'll have to have jeanie address the vintage stores question. How could I forget club harem. They used to be bare boobs but then the city made them paint a bra on it. Now they arent boobs at all just boob shaped. I remember during world cup they painted them like soccer balls Another great strip club to stop by on sunday is Dancers Royale. THey have a free buffet during the day and great bbq chicken.. unfortunately Jai-Alai season is over.
Posted: May 18, 2007 4:59 am
Rich, do you have an address for Dancers Royale? If we're playing at 4 in the afternoon i'd like to be hitting up that stripper buffet by HIGH noon!
Posted: May 18, 2007 4:13 pm
5221 East Colonial Drive, THere will be a zine available at the fest that come with a map that has all the spots to hit from the santaria store to the beefy king
Posted: May 18, 2007 4:17 pm
Posted: May 18, 2007 5:46 pm
There's also Cassadaga, this small town 1/2-way between Orlando and Daytona whose citizens are all psychics.
Posted: May 18, 2007 5:51 pm
and dont forget weeki wachee the town of the mermaids
Posted: May 21, 2007 8:53 pm
If I wasn't quitting my job this week I would LOVE to be there... especially Club Harem. :( somebody burn Chad with a cigarette for me.
Posted: May 21, 2007 11:24 pm
Club Harem almost got shut down last year in a sting operation called "Operation Double D". I swear to god that is not a lie. They are the only strip club in Winter Park and the city wanted their boobs shaped residence out. Have no fear though they are still there. Before it was club harem the place was called the Booby TRap
Posted: May 21, 2007 11:24 pm
oh yeah the entrance way is in the cleavage
Posted: May 22, 2007 2:30 am

I fucking HATE dealing wih cash at bars (Chicago!) when I'm trying to watch bands....even though I blow more w/ tabs.

Posted: May 22, 2007 10:07 pm

Ok, I've been sleeping for hours and hours and I am awake!

First things first. Chad = gay

The 'Official Program' for the Wild Weekend, created by Jesse from FFFF was amazings!! A page for most every band with the same (dumb) questions with directions, attractions and even included an autograph page (silly)....I think everyone signed mine except for people saying they wanted to sign it,but only when they were drunk ---- then forgot (cough-GJesse&honey-cough).

I don't know how it went for the bands and all that logistical band stuff, but for me, it was theee most well-organized, well put together, thought-of-everything festival I've ever attended. No kidding. Even down to the fucking floaties, noodles and (yet more) beach balls at the Mon Memorial day pool party. I may not have gotten any sun at the Smyrna Beach vampire beach party on Friday but I am fucking lobster from swimming for HOURS Monday at Natalie's (thx!) and thanks to the Fums for desperately needed pizza.

If there was a champion for the weekend, it was definitley the Fe Fi Fo Fums -- and not becuase I'm gay for 'em. Their set was the silliest/best ever -- more beach balls and lots of neon-colored signs that read all kinds of things I cannot remember. All but me and a few others were the only party-poopers not on stage during it (I wanted pictures!). Rawsome. Incriminating photos to follow. Wished I could have gotten one of Rich getting the ole football coach 5-gallon bucket of ice water poured on his head at the end of the game shot!! xoxo!

I have never seen more beer fly and bottles breaking than during Fashion Fashion set. I guess it was their last show -- whatta way to go out, guys -- great!! Your bass player is a MANIAC! I LOVED IT!

The Wax Museums were REALLY great -- it was soooper fun seeing everyone else enjoy them in a completely different city. And based on Valery's (cute little) knees being wasted from that show, apparently their show Thursday night in the ATL was pretty fun also! Yay!

Favorite new band I've never seen before: Thomas Function! They saved the day. I was pretty fucking wasted after getting off the PARTY BUUUUUUUS!!! (hard to beleive, right?) and they completely re-energized me and was ready for the rest of the night. I was also REALLY impressed by Wizzard Sleeve -- I had no idea what to expect with just that one single -- really good stuff and I look forward to seeing much more of them (you hear that CHADDLES!?!?!). Thanks to David Obamalamamababy for the great score on all that DNH stuff!! XOXOXo! Everybody went crazy-bananas for Carboners and although excited about seeing Dan Melchoir his set seemed VERY odd-man-out and really testing my endurance. That crazy drunk dude fr Orlando,Brain, falling all over the stage broke his arm; apparetnly the only casulty/hospital incident of the weekend.

The bowling alley was a really I really cool place. If you could smoke in there, it would probably be a pretty great bar to hang out and just have drinks at. I liked the F-Pipes a lot and those big jerks had nothing for sale. JOhnny and Limelites were totally fun time party band; their final cover With A Little Help From My Friends was FANtastico! Although shit was pretty shattered at that point, the Frantic was what I was waiting for and all the problems with sound made the stupidity even better.

Creeteens sounded like a perpetual train wreck as usual to me, then Benji played with Jacuzzi Boys -- that was pretty fun -- I forgot to se if they had anything for sale. Jeanie with her budweiser dress should have won it's own prize. Eat the Eldery has to be one of the best bands names ever --- I think Dunx should be a drummer! and Rad Kids were fun too

Live Fast Die were sooper fun too and I was responsible for making Sarem (sp) their sweet bass player sleep on a park bench one night...sorry buddy!! And sorry Eric, I was shattered so I had to sit out Hibachi Stranglers. I know! And Pink Reason canceled so I still have read his page of the program - ha!

The party bus was silly. Anytime we would pass ANYTHING someone would say 'hey there's a crack whore on the street corner' and everyone wouls say PARTY BUUUUUUUS!!! -- 'hey there's where a McDOnalds used to be' --- PARTY BUUUUUUUS!!! --- yeah. I rode back to the room with the Bonerz, but Jeanie said they drove around for another hour and half trying to drink all the beer. Man.

ONLY thing that completely blew for me was losing my Jay Reatard Blood Visions Badge that I got as a Shattered four-set badge-thing-y that came out before I ever knew there was gonna be a Blood Visions record. I've been wearing it practically every day since I got it. Whaaaaaaam-bulance!

The T-Shirts are great "Dude! I got totally wasted at the Wet T-Shirt Wild Weekend! Everything was great. Thanks, Rich, Jeanie, all the bands and all the new friends I made.

Beach pix, Carbonas pix, Wizzard Sleeve pix, PARRRRTY BUUUUS pix, and so on...

This was too much fun. Rich and Jeanie are the best. FFIB played their last show with appropriate beachball crushing abandon. Hibachi Stranglers were awesome too. The bummer of missing the Sunday shows was slightly made better by having a bunch of drunken wedding revelers at the Hideout demand an encore of "Beef Bologna" and "Pizza Party." First time for everything...

The girls dancing with the signs during the Fe FI Fo Fums and then the whole audience on the stage. The Fe Fi Fo Fums are my new favorite band. The coolest most fun guys in the world.
