anyone know of anything between santa ana and denver?
houston and NOLA?
Posted: Aug 7, 2006 10:47 am
or fargo and winnipeg? kinda
Posted: Aug 7, 2006 6:46 pm
hmm. i guess the real question is why you would ever want to play denver, santa ana, fargo, or winnipeg.

have you thought of salt lake city ? just don't play on sunday.
Posted: Aug 7, 2006 6:49 pm
if you're gonna do salt lake, try kilby court.
Posted: Aug 7, 2006 6:54 pm
nothing really between Houston and NOLA? Maybe Beaumont, which had shows a few years ago. If you have an extra day in Houston, I would recommend playing the local record store, Sound Exchange. You could maybe pass the hat around and sell some merchandise. Their phone # is 713-666-5555 or www.soundexchangehouston.com

houston and NOLA?

just play two nights in new orleans, donkey!
Posted: Aug 7, 2006 6:59 pm
the club in beaumont, TX is called the vortex.

Info can be found at

Posted: Aug 7, 2006 8:02 pm
Hey Mark, you should go to Winnipeg, people are really cool there in general. I could give some infos via email, you could also go to a biker bar in Regina, gaslight saloon, they are cool and the money will be there for sure.

tchek your mail!
Posted: Aug 7, 2006 8:56 pm
are you coming to the midwest?
Posted: Aug 7, 2006 9:23 pm
what about eugene oregon?
ya that inbetween santa ana and denver is pretty important if anyone has a better idea than salt lake city. too far.
Posted: Aug 7, 2006 10:39 pm
Isn't Vegas between Santa Ana and Denver?
Posted: Aug 7, 2006 11:03 pm
Sweet Lord on Halloween! I'm asking off for this at work now.
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 12:01 am
i was thinking las vegas, too, but the drive after is still rather far. if anyone has any connex, tho, shoot em my way. thx
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 12:33 am
Flagstaff, AZ

fun as hell house parties
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 4:25 pm
Heard you guys were playing at Smith's Old Bar in Atlanta. That is probably one of the worst places for you to play. Atlanta has a really young crowd right now for some reason and none of them will be able to get into your show. It will just be white yuppies expecting to see Blues Hammer and they will be sitting down the whole time! You guys should try to move it while you can.
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 5:06 pm
hey valery, we talked about mazbe doing an aftershow at someones house or lennys or something. maybe even a preshow at slaughterhaus or treys. it really sucks that its there, but i think its because of the detroit cobras.
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 5:26 pm
Hey Jared! I didn't know they were playing with the Detroit Cobras, but yeah, that probably has something to do with it. Wonder who's booking their tour? That's a pretty weird place for either of them to play. Afternoon show will be great. I'll go to both for sure. I just didn't want them to be surprised at the kind of turn out they're going to get at Smith's Old Bar. Are you guys going to play with them?
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 5:31 pm
inbetween santa ana and denver

las vegas will take you in one direction.
if you want to take another direction, you could play tucson and shoot up to flagstaff
you will still have a long drive after that tho
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 6:48 pm
or we could do an all ages in atlanta nov. 5th
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 7:05 pm
Mark - I have a good Vegas hookup

Albuquerque is about halfway.

you could do Eugene then cut over to Reno. But you'd have a pretty huge gap...it would almost be worth it to do Salt Lake City

you could do :

Santa Ana
Salt Lake City

Santa Ana
El Centro
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 7:09 pm
it\'s all booked already, but for a couple of dates. there is only the one day between santa ana and denver. check:
we\'ll be coming back probably in the spring on our own
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 7:33 pm
Dammit, you slept at my house, can you accept me as your lamespace friend now, pleeez?
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 7:37 pm
i can't believe i just checked to see if there were some peoplke 'in wait' as friends on myspace. there weren't.
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 7:38 pm
I see... that's a huge gap.

I'd say Albuqurque is your best bet.

Burt's Tiki Room or The Launchpad
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 7:39 pm
By The Way...any room on that Santa Ana bill?

we tried to get on the Hollywood show, but they said there wouldn't be any local support.
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 7:40 pm
it's outta our hands, this tour. we certainly aren't used to a lot of the goings-on. i can ask the bookers, but they seem big-wiggy.
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 7:44 pm
Happy Birthday to you too, Jared!
Posted: Aug 8, 2006 10:07 pm

I'd say Albuqurque is your best bet.

New home of Mr. Royal Oden...

Did we figure out what I'm driving? I think my house should be sold real quick (fingers crossed).
Posted: Aug 10, 2006 1:20 pm
Tom, I got a new email address. i lost all mz old contacts.
email me. i need to book it soon.
Posted: Aug 10, 2006 7:47 pm
Mavis, are you driving on this whole tour? uh-oh...

and Mark - make sure the sound guy at Richard's doesn't mic your drums to sound like stadium-rock... when the Black Lips played there in the spring, Joe was on a 3-foot riser!
Posted: Aug 11, 2006 4:27 pm
If any flyers need to be done for these shows, email me.
Posted: Aug 11, 2006 4:47 pm

Yeah, what happenned to Alberto?
Posted: Aug 13, 2006 12:36 am
khan was taking care of the 'driver situation', so i dunno.
but here's a quick update:
between fargo and winnipeg - i guess we'll just hang in one of the two places, if someone wants to do a house party or some shit in either city.
between calgary and vancouver - we will probably just drive, unless someone can hook up something like kamloops or some shit, but i heard that ain't such a hot idea.
between portland and sf - oakland would be cool. any ideas? or eugene, if it's a good idea.
between santa ana and denver - i think we're gonna be tourists and check out the grand canyon and shit. still have never been.
between houston and NOLA - i dunno. heard there's a record store we could play at in houston. house party somewhere? ideas
the rest seems to be under control.
thanks for all of the ideas and suggestions.
Posted: Aug 13, 2006 1:36 am
between houston and NOLA - i dunno.

come on fuckers, it's only 6 hours from houston to nola. come a day early. I'll take you guys on a tour of destroyed neighborhoods and good food. we will get you a show at the circle bar for monday night.

alternately: try to get a show in Lafayette, LA. I have no idea of where to play there, but have a look at http://www.noladiy.org/venues.php and maybe you can figure something out. I would come to a show there and then we could ride to new orleans via cajun country while sampling every piece of boudin sausage and fried pork skin along the way.
Posted: Aug 13, 2006 1:39 am
both ideas sound great. thanks. write me: marksultan@yahoo.com
Posted: Aug 14, 2006 3:36 pm
we are contemplating seret after-party shows in some places if anyone is down: marksultan@yahoo.com
Posted: Aug 14, 2006 3:36 pm
seret apparently means 'secret' secretly
Posted: Aug 14, 2006 5:11 pm
between houston and NOLA

There's a place in Lafayette, the Blue Moon Saloon. Kinda of rootsy place, but I bet it would work.
Posted: Aug 15, 2006 12:06 am
New Orleans is down with serets....I'll bring cupcakes.
Posted: Aug 15, 2006 1:30 am
yer a cupcake......blue moon saloon is pretty cool, maybe yall can play with the red stick ramblers
Posted: Aug 15, 2006 1:44 am
looks pretty cool... anyone know that place? would people go to the show, even?
Posted: Aug 15, 2006 2:29 pm
Renaissance has shows too (Ithink they are on Myspace.). I know a lot of crazy Lafayette girls who love to dance... but it depends on when the show is.
Posted: Aug 15, 2006 3:18 pm
I've been there a bunch. They go nuts for Scott Biram (Austin blues/hollerin/stompin omb) there. The stage is the back porch of the guest house. They give you a free room when you play there (I think). I think people would show up. My buddy Pud (quadrajets) lives there, I can get him to spread the word.
Posted: Aug 16, 2006 3:21 pm
i got my ticket over the weekend. $15 bucks! sure it will be worth it though.
Posted: Aug 16, 2006 4:29 pm

Look forward to seeing you guys again.

Posted: Aug 17, 2006 5:15 pm
Blue Moon not looking good, here's the message I got:

Hey Rick

Mondays are horrible here because they are very poorly attended- even great bands from out of town.
For that reason, The Blue Moon doesn't do Monday shows- but some other places might-

The Renaissance (337) 267-7404
Caffe Cottage (337) 235-4199
Club Sin (337) 235-0746

Honestly- I'd try Baton Rouge. More college kids make Monday better there.

Red Star (225) 346-8454
Chelsea's (225) 387-3679
Spanish Moon (225) 383-6666
Posted: Aug 17, 2006 7:30 pm

cuz we do wanna. but i will email anyway.

Carlos from the Mothballs is working with Oscar, so I think you're set. One of them should be e-mailing you shortly.
