What the world needs now ... is a David Gest-produced, star-studded tribute to Dionne Warwick.

Celebrity producer and Memphis resident David Gest will soon make a Hollywood come back with no fewer than three television specials he says will be on par with his career-defining Michael Jackson special.
First up, he’ll be toasting singer Dionne Warwick with a two-night concert Jan. 26 and 27 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. The edited 2-hour television program will air 6 to 12 weeks after the performance.
Two additional celebrations — one for October 2006 and an other in December 2006 — will be announced at a star-studded gala Oct. 17 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Gest says he has contacted more than 100 stars to take part in the Warwick special, many of whom will be introduced at the party.
“We’re expecting almost everybody (Warwick) has ever worked with,” he said in a phone interview Monday. “Many artists will be performing her material and she’ll also be singing duets with others.”
