Well, I have 2 rights putting this here (I am a Memphis native and Wesley Person played for MEM for quite some time)...but y'all heard about the big trade huh? Sheed and Wes to ATL for Abdur-Raheem, Ratliff and Dan Dickau! SAY WHA?

I guess the Blazers just love x-Grizz?

Dickau's a good pick-up. Isn't he a local boy, relatively speaking?

Yeah, he is from Vancouver, WA which is right across one of the rivers we are surrounded by out here and went to Gonzaga.

Oh people here probably are more psyched about him than Abdur-Raheem: He's white, he's local and he has that tousled-head like the fave local boy Luke Ridenhour.

I think this trade backfires on Portland. They'd just won 7 of 8 and had a HUGE game coming up last night vs. Utah, a team 1/2 game ahead of them. So they played shorthanded last night and get beat and lose their momentum. Of all the teams behind the Grizz, they're the one that scared me the most - every year they seem to go crazy in the second half and go on loooong winning streaks. Utah and the Sonics are good, but they're not gonna win more than 3 or 4 games in a row...

Why not make this trade over the All-Star break? Anyway, Rahim's a great player, but Wallace scares me alot more than him...

Poor Wes, maybe we can trade Bonzi to Atlanta for him...

Btw, Ridnour's a MUCH better player than Dickau, who'll be out of the league soon...

yeah, rahim is great... but he's not gonna stuff pau every time pau tries to go inside.

not that zach randolph can't handle that without sheed, but...

Agreed re: Dickau vs. Ridenhour.

Also, agreed re: backfire on Portland this season. But what you guys "have to" understand is the new management could give a shit about wins right now--they are on a PR campaign to clean up the Blazers and don't care about what the current Blazers or anyone who still cares about the team thinks...all they care about is getting back the fans who have stopping coming to games (A LOT) and also getting back local corporate sponsorships.

I am glad Sheed is gone for HIS sake. But, relistically, it will be better in the end for the Blazers too.

Yeah, don't Rahim and Randolph play the same position (and Ratliff)? Rahim'll get torched if they try to make him a 3...I bet Randolph has it alot tougher now, especially since they just traded two guys who stretch the floor for him...Teams will just sag back and clog the middle now and dare them to shoot over...

Nice article by Pau apologist Chris Herrington in the Flyer...

Yup--and 'Sheed was much more "mature" (in many ways) than Z-Bo (horrible nickname, but hey, I don't argue) too...oh well, Zach is one of those special players that just keeps trying to better himself and doesn't whine to the media like every other player is right now. So, better luck next year Blazers and who really knows what will happen once Rahim and Ratliff get to town?
