Saturday, Calipari said he has taken the Tiger b-ball program to a new level. I couldn't agree more.
I'm taking bets on when that greasy haired athletic director is gonna get fired for extending this Calipari's contract through 2010. This idiot has made a lot of mistakes, but that extension is the biggest ever!

The following was mailed in the guise of a "challenge" by my Michigan State-lovin' boyfren...thought you'd grumble a bit, Sherman.

Olive Branch ,MS: : Coach Cal, I am a big time Tiger fan and you are doing a GREAT job!! Please forgive my SOuthern brothers and sisters for wearing their emotions on their sleeves. My question is that there are a few big guys that rank in the top 10 on the JC level. Are we going to try to recruit one? Also, remember hearing that we are in talks with Maryland and Michigan State, etc. Hows that going? We love ya coach!!! GO TIGERS!!!!!

John Calipari: We've got feelers out to a lot of people, Maryland and Mich State included. As far as the Junior Colleges go, we're talking to a big guy right now that I think wants to come here. What I really want to talk about in your comment is the emotion that you speak of ... THe greatest thing about being the coach here at Memphis is that people are so passionate about this team. If you win, they are so passionate, and so excited and the praise flows and they are happy. Accepting that, you have to take the flip side, too. If you lose, they are still passionate. Fans will say things while they are in that emotional state. As a coach you must take with both sides. The good with the bad. That comes with the passion. Do you want to coach somewhere where you take less heat because people don't care? I certainly don't!

Ha! Ha! What does that mean--is Calipari gonna buy out Maryland & Michigan State? Or is that just about playing them? Calipari will wait til both programs are losers before setting up a potential loss. He thinks 20 wins vs. nobodies means an automatic bid to the big dance!

Anyone who caught the doc. last night saw some great shots of Anotonio Burke's "Soulsville" at its finest! Also got to see how Calipari coaches during a game: Frown & loudly yell "PLAY" over & over. John Wooden must love watching this guy!
