This is gonna sound retarded, but people who want this school, which is so broke it keeps closing down departments and laying people off (thank you, nashville politicians who don't give memphis jack shit and also those thougthful dipshit east tennesseans who have saved our soul from gambling's sins!), to succeed should be giving money to the music & education departments and forget subsidizing the sports sham.
Calipari only recruits thugs & criminals who shouldn't even be in college (even one as easy to get into as U. of M)cause they are too STUPID. Most that he recruits don't end up enrolling (or only stay long enough to get their nba cred. 1 year) & none have graduated.
I would hire Vertais Sails or some other equivalent local high school coach and recruit from the fertile crescent of talent that Arkansas, Ole Miss,& UT have been mining--Memphis--duh. There's plenty o' talent here. Get a coach who let's 'em run (Calipari can't coach out of a wet paper bag--his only claim to fame was recruiting Camby to U. Mass. Truly. Watch him against any good coach with similar talent. He is out-coached every time.) Play a killer schedule and let 'em roll. Worked for 20 years before Calipari showed up--without having to pay that dipshit millions of dollars. What a scam he is running...He's worth about $60,000 a year as a cheezy recruiter & his restaurant sucks too.
One final thought: I saw one of his assistant coaches shove an opposing player last year when he flew into their bench. Only one word for that "coach": classless scumbag. That's the kind of program Calipari runs. Go back home, dude! Oh, yeah, I forgot: he was a total loser in the NBA, no one else in college wants him, and Memphis state is dumping truckloads of money on him. Why leave?
