you'd be a fool to come down here. I'm in Mississippi thank god. Memphis really is dead and hot and you can't go anywhere.None of the clubs are open or anything else for that matter.

none of us are writing back because none of us have computers up an running, it's fucked here, if you have a gun, a generator, and some good flashlights please do come down and stay for a spell. I had some very large tree section bouce around on my roof and they are down everywhere.

Being practically unemployed, my question is this, is there some sort of clean up crew that they are hiring the average memphian to help put the city back in order? I need money fast.

fucking nightmare that lasted over a week.. trying to take my mind off the 90+ heat in the hous and the swarm of mosquitos making a home in my nose and ears.. i dialed into the soul classics station to ease the pain and soon passed out, i woke up to realize that they were playing christmas music 24-7..al green was singing jingle bell rock.. it was at that point..i lost my mind.. 'shattered' for real

just got power TODAY... 12 days total.... i became a nomad. driving around in my truck with backpack full of necessities and a couple pairs of clean socks, and tried my hardest to find somewhere, someone home - with air conditioning and power - for 12 days. of course sometimes that didn't happen so i got to come home and sleep with a 75 pund rottweiler in a 95 degree house with nothing. thank god for pot, or i could have become dangerous to people - especially myself. a little cold beer and a lot of pot kept me sane. i wish it was over for everyone but i understand there are still about 30,000 down?? dang. we really got knocked on our asses. a hurricane in memphis? or at least an off-shoot from a hurricane. time to start movin? the hurricanes are coming all the way to m-town now :( the environment really is changing, the weather has been so strange here the last couple years. we got hit with a shitload of bricks

You need some money and....duh...there's a lot of work to be done. Seems like all you'd have to do is step outside and sign on. No need to ast your cmputer baby...

"300,000 MLGW customers"- how many people is that, really? is 30,000 customers still 100,000 people?

Actually my two favorite "indie films" are Man Bites Dog and Hate, and those both came from other fucking countries.
But what I mean is, could anything be more boring and predictable than a movie call "Coffee and Cigarettes" featuring Steve Buscemi!?!?

I don't think so, does anybody else feel like the whole GenX thing has become about as bad and bland, as Hair Metal was in the 80's? Rap has gotten pretty bad too, but not like the shit that white people are comeing up with...do your remember when all those buttrockers in your town, suddenly turned into grunge rockers? well, this is so much worst...I just hope they get a close up on the White Stripes ciggarete and coffe stained teeth...fucking sewers I tell ya.

they actually meant 300,000 customers like homes and businesses, not individual users.

this is news for today, the 12th...

Aug. 12, 2003  |  STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) --

An Internet-borne infection incapacitated tens of thousands of computers on Tuesday, snarling company networks and frustrating home users as it spread across the globe

TENS OF THOUSANDS? memphis had 300,000 "customers" out of power (not just not getting the spam for the day, not getting a/c or lights) and didn't get on the news.
