Am I the only one who thinks that 15$ for Jon Spencer on a Wednesday night at the worst sounding club in town is about 2 x too much? Then I saw that Ween is playing for $20 advance/$25 at door in Oxford. Is this about really great booking agents or really dumb club bookers? Truly, guys, it's not 1995...these bands aren't that popular (are they?) And if these clubs are gonna charge casino prices, how about comping me about $40 worth of liquor?

I'd rather pay $8 for Reigning Sound or Hollywood All-Stars or Cool Jerks, myself.

Ya know what? I'd pay the price to see Dan Melchior's Broke review...Sixteene sent me a tape of the second alb which showed up in my mailbox yesterday and I rocked it three fuckin' times...a PERFECT alb and an in-fucking-credible band all around!! I actually booked 'ewm here in Vegas with ILCK II and Modey Lemon. If the Broke Review is playing w/ jsbx you ain't gonna see 'em three feet in front of you playing on the floor of the bar like I saw 'em...so it def. won't be as great, but they rule nonetheless. As for jsbx, there latest sux green donkey dix. I dj'd there last show here having only heard a couple tracks from that fang lp er whatever and I'm telling you sincerely...my set was better than theirs.

I agree with everything Sherman says except the price of those tickets were 15 x too much.

Good??? They were AMAZING when I saw 'em. I missed their last show here with the Flash Express cuz I was in NYC. Modey Lemon was the only reason I was bummed to be outta town.

The Hollywood All-Stars are the house band at Wild Bill's. The next time you're in Memphis you simply MUST check it out...But only if you like drinkin' quarts and shakin' your ass.
