I come to Memphis every year during the King Biscuit Blues Fest. I've had some good times thanks to the lowlife quide to Memphis. There are three things I hope to have time for this year. 1) Ellen's Soul Food, 2)Wild Bill's and 3)Full Gospel Tabernacle. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has experienced any of these. Thanks.

Haven't experienced any of them, but I hear Al Green's church is cool. And supposedly Wild Bill's has some good BBQ (but I don't eat meat so I wouldn't know firsthand). I do know not to call there, however. I had to call Wild Bill's for work one time, and this old man answered and there was really loud country something playing in the background, and he kept saying, "I can't hear ya! Speak up!" But I was like yelling. I finally just hung up on him. It was a hopeless situation.

do up all three if you can. if you can do only one, you will still come out happy.

gus' chicken (either location) could be a good addition, too. and cozy corner. and... it never ends.

z/g, you ain't never been to wild bill's? fri or sat night it's close to jookin' in the city, along with the hard luck cafe, which i still haven't tried. there's other spots i'm not privvy to, i'm sure.
