Hey I just saw that The Country Teasers are playing August 4th at HI TONE in Memphis... can someone tell me where this place is, what it's like, if they've got a web site, etc.? Thanks!

The Hi-Tone is pretty cool. Used to be a swing/ big band club from what I understand, but now they host a lot of metal/ rock/ punk whatever bands. It's located @ 1913 Poplar, not too far from the Memphis College of Art. Where are you coming from? I could give better directions if I knew. The phone number is 901-278-TONE.

My buddy Tim Sullivan (guitarist for The Cripplers) and I will probably (not sure yet) be coming from St. Louis... so we'll be coming south on I-55 and then crossing in from West Memphis. Directions from that point would be mucho appreciado, por favor...

From West Memphis:
After you cross the bridge into Tennessee, take the first exit (Riverside Dr./ Front St.) right off the bridge. When you reach the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp, take a right onto Front St. The first stop light you'll come to is the intersection of Poplar and Front. Take a left (you can't turn right anyway) onto Poplar. Follow Poplar for a while, and on your right, you'll eventually see the Hi-Tone. It's got a black-and-white sign, and Hi-Tone is written in retro-looking letters. If you pass the Memphis College of Art sign, you've gone too far. Hope you find it okay.

It will be a crime if anyone misses this Country Teasers show. And I will be handing out the Punishment.

Thanks for the directions. I'll pass them along to Tim. It's now looking very doubtfull that I'll be able to make it down for this... damn. Wish they were playing here in St. Louie.
