I'm jealous. I have a tiny one I let John use for his apartment.
I wish I could find one of those color wheels that didn't cost a zillion bucks. I love them.

eBay! Seriously, wait until after Christmas, then look for them. I did that one year and there were a ton. Purdy trees too.

Hold up . I bought one of those cheap modern Chinese made color wheels. The thing would barely rotate. I tossed it after a short while . I got a vintage one on ebay that I am very happy with. Buy one in the spring or summer like Faye said .

Yep, good advice, guys. Thanks.
Our tree is looking particularly fetching. I want to put a bunch of icicles on it this year. I've refrained the last few years for several reasons (cat, not eco friendly, my metrosexual oldest kid) but I really want to this year.

tigergreen...I just saw your post. THANKS!!!
or wait a minute...I just read Rumple's too. Are these REAL color wheels or cheap Chinese color wheels?
(Is that a real poncho? Or a Sears poncho?)

I have no problem with Chinese or especially cheap........... but I do have a problem with stuff that don't work or burning down the house.

don't know about the trees much... we bought a hen from the dude and he gave us a free duck

Rumple, that tree is money! the most elusive in the aluminum forest!

when I worked for David Copperfield, we bought ducks from Love's Feed. I love the autographed photo of Jerry Lee on the wall...

when I worked for David Copperfield,

I don't know why this is so funny to me.

when I worked for David Copperfield,
it was pure hell -- he was filming that Tornado of Death special, which was supposedly live in NY, dead in Memphis. I'd just lost a really good job, and was willing to do anything

We loved the esthetic -- aluminum trees embody everything Christmas really isn't about. They're absurd, which may be why I like them so much," John says.

very nice.
