Goner Message Board / Memphis / Park and Mt Moriah....have you seen the Little Ceasars sign holder guy?
Posted: Dec 6, 2006 2:40 pm

That plays air guitar with the sign? He's got headphones on and could care less whether anyone is looking......sometimes the sign is upside down but he uses it like a guitar and wails in his own mind.....

The reason I bring this up is that yesterday there was a IMPOSTER out there.....no where near the passion.
Posted: Dec 6, 2006 3:14 pm

yes!
it would be cool if the new guy played left-handed guitar, and they could both be out at once facing each other like a mirror.
Posted: Dec 6, 2006 3:23 pm

Yeah but being a left handed guitar player myself, I'm pretty sure they don't make a left handed Little Ceasars sign......rare.
Posted: Dec 6, 2006 3:40 pm

You mean that kids a regular occurance? I saw him one that corner once and thought I was witnessing a rare performance.
Posted: Dec 6, 2006 3:48 pm

He's out there a lot.....I've seen him at 5:30 on week nights and a lot on weekends.....he is totally into his music and he rocks.....the kid's got the moves
Posted: Dec 6, 2006 4:01 pm

I LOVE THAT GUY! I meant to post about him before and i forgot - thanks golightly
Posted: Dec 6, 2006 4:58 pm

He rocks! And he's a damn sight better than the guy in the gorilla suit he replaced. Seriously, who thought a guy in a gorilla suit would make someone want to buy pizza?
Posted: Dec 6, 2006 5:29 pm

I have witnessed the rocking air guitar player.
Posted: Dec 7, 2006 4:50 am

shoot. i'll haffta drive a few blocks south of my house and catch his next show.
Posted: Dec 7, 2006 2:25 pm

you just take a right handed sign, turn it upside down, and restring it.
i am ready for the glam of dueling signs.

I've tried it.....it fucks up the intonation

That kid is genius. He's way better than that lazy Quizno's sign holder bimbo at Poplar and Mendenhall, she all sits down and shit.
Posted: Dec 8, 2006 3:22 pm

I saw that guy last night. I happened to be on Park at about 7:00. He was into it, man, going all out with headbanging, kicks, spins, everything.
Posted: Dec 8, 2006 4:13 pm

I saw that guy last night

in 20 degree weather?
Jeeeezus....
Posted: Dec 8, 2006 4:26 pm

the Goner store should hire that kid for their outdoor advertising.
Posted: Dec 8, 2006 7:17 pm

good idea.
Posted: Dec 8, 2006 7:27 pm

I've been seeing him for awhile now. the new imposter is a bigger built kid with a shaved head, not nearly as good.
The good one is like...maybe 15/16 years old and awesome. I saw him fall down one time on his back and continue rocking with the sign.
Posted: Dec 11, 2006 4:28 pm

on my way home from work friday, i drove by that intersection and didnt see dude. but when i turned on mendenhall, i saw the real air guitar dude?(bout 16 with bushy hair) with guitar, uhhh i mean, sign in hand i drove into the parking lot and pulled up next to him, by this time he was in flailing air guitar histrionics. i rolled down my window and he turned off his head phones. i asked him what he was rawking out to and he told me the chilli peppers. i then handed him a printout of this thread, told him he was a hit and then drove off
Posted: Dec 11, 2006 5:36 pm

dear "golightly" on my balls. I usually dont go past that area when i am in town, but i will try 2 c it when i happen to be there.

dear "golightly" on my balls.

excuse me?
Posted: Dec 11, 2006 7:05 pm

Lots of Little Caesars have these kids. It must be in the job requirements to dance and catch people's attention. I might try this at the Goner store today.

I'm sure he's totally self concious now...
Dude, I bet that kid never plays another note.

Do you play a real guitar?
How do you keep the sign in tune?
You ROCK
Posted: Dec 22, 2006 1:27 am

Witnessed last night in a post-shopping funk. Fantastic.
Posted: Dec 22, 2006 3:02 am

What do you listen to besides the Chilli Peppers?

Would you be adverse to people making you mix tapes to play too?
Posted: Dec 22, 2006 6:22 pm

ehhhh....you would just put Mangina on there and then dude's sign would go out of tune, he wouldnt be able to keep time any more and he would end up in a helmet and a diaper
Posted: Dec 23, 2006 12:59 am

wow...I saw him tonight!!!
I was rollin' down Park and there he was, fucking rockin out...
Luckily I was right at the corner and stopped at the light and rolled down my window when I saw him. I was rockin' the Mastodon pretty loud and I gave him the metal fingers and said FUCK YEAH!!! He kinda paused said YEAH and jumped in the air and kept on rockin'...
I don't think the 'fame' has gotten to him because he's still going for it.

that kids alright...
Posted: Dec 23, 2006 1:04 am

We've totally got to get MEAT out to some shows.
Posted: Dec 23, 2006 1:09 am

I was rockin' the Mastodon

BTW, was it the new one? I've heard good and bad about it. Still haven't heard it, myself.
Posted: Dec 23, 2006 4:45 am

I gave him the metal fingers

You mean you threw up the goat?
Posted: Dec 23, 2006 6:09 am

Yes Mr. Stands, Blood Mountain...forget anything bad you've heard. Its not as raw as Remission, buts its a great combo of that and Leviathan. It just gets stronger as you get further into it. Really fucking rockin' with all the math but more importantly the fucking metal is laid down...and there's alot of melody...yes melody. I highly recommend it.

You mean you threw up the goat?
of course!
Posted: Dec 23, 2006 2:43 pm

Saw him last night and tried to get his attention but he was having none of it......then he ran at the light pole and jumped about 5 feet up the pole and kicked off......fuckin' rock star this guy is...I'd LOVE to know what he is listening to.
Posted: Dec 23, 2006 11:32 pm

I once threw up the goat at a mexican restaraunt.

You ROCK

1. no but some lady told me she was starting a fundraiser to pay for guitar lessons
2. Its not that hard to keep in tune, but the old guy messed up my old sign and I had to get it restrung

What do you listen to besides the Chilli Peppers?

a couple of hippies once told me to start keeping it a secret but Metallica goes without saying

Would you be adverse to people making you mix tapes to play too?

if anyone wants to make any cds with their music on thats more than fine with me
Posted: Jan 3, 2007 3:29 am

alright...a new mind to warp!!!
lets hook the kid up...
Posted: Jan 3, 2007 10:02 am

Guitar lesson number one:

1. Take whatever money is raised for you and by a Ramones record.

2. Teach yourself to play guitar along to that Ramones record.

3. Once you've mastered that start a band.
Posted: Jan 3, 2007 3:35 pm

Meat....there ain't but three chords.....GET BUSY!
Posted: Jan 3, 2007 7:56 pm

MEAT, you should check out the replacements. all 17 year olds, especially ones that stand outside playing air guitar with a little caesars sign, will have their lives planned out.

MASTODON BLOOD MOUNTAIN= one of the BEST fucking albums recorded in the last 2 years, bar none.

Posted: Oct 2, 2007 9:02 pm

Posted: Sep 11, 2008 11:21 am

He started with air guitar on the rectangular sign, but Little Caesars corporate officials heard about him and made him a special sign in the shape of a guitar.

aha! i noticed his fancy new guitar the other day ... wondered how he made it. that kid makes me smile every day as i drive home from work
Posted: Sep 11, 2008 6:07 pm

He stole JB's moves!

The latest boob tube exposure is on Channel 13:

I still prefer the old square sign over the guitar shape.
Posted: Jun 3, 2009 3:40 pm

don't see the regular guy out as much.

replaced by a young black kid pathetically trying to shred with an old square sign.

vernon reid would be appalled.
Posted: Jun 3, 2009 3:45 pm

I too have been saddened by the "performances" of the black kid...he was trying at first, but he ends up just jumping up and down like he is doing the pogo.
Posted: Jun 3, 2009 6:48 pm

Snuky Tate he ain't!
