This guy had a huge local hit in Memphis around 1965 with "Haunted House"( on Hi Records ,I think). Jumpin' Gene of Haunted House fame dies of cancer.
Vocalist with Bill Black. Songwriter.

Damn! R.I.P. "Bossy Boss" is the closest thing to country-garage I can think of.

Apparently one of the local radio stations heard about this the other day, and thought it was the other Gene. So, they played a bunch of cuts off his Kiss "solo" album. On the other hand Punk Rock Pat (being the one that heard about it on the radio) couldn't figure out why there was no info on the innernet when he got home that evening.

"( on Hi Records ,I think)

Yes ... "After the death of Bill Black, Simmons signed with "Hi Records" and released 'Haunted House' in 1964. It would be his first hit and launch him on a world tour."
