Goner Message Board / Goner Records / Are old records worth anything?

Hey All,

My Grandfather recently passed away and when going through some things I found a box of old records. I assume that they are worth very little or nothing but before I throw them I figured I should check. I would say there are about 30 records. Just for example the first one I grabbed says "When My Sugar Walks Down the Street(Gene Austin-Jimmy McHugh-Irvin Mills) it also says Ella Fitzgerald and Her Famous Orchestra and 18587 B. Thanks for any help!

Probably not. Big Band and vocal jazz stuff is pretty common even though it might be 50 years old. Sounds like that's what you've got... probably 78s.

Best bets are to take 'em to a store and see if they'll pay for them, have a yard sale & see if anyone buys them, or donate them to Goodwill or the Salvation Army.

Good luck & thanks for checking in.
