BAGS "Disco's Dead" 7" (Artifix)
5.50 ppd
3 Songs, one demo and 2 live, from these great LA punkers lead by Alice
Bag.
Anybody see the Jerry Springer episode "I live in a box!"?
Man, that was great. The live stuff is really, really raw, but "Disco's
Dead" is pretty cool Us punkers Vs Them Discoers that serves the trendy
fuggers right.

CUTS 2 Over Ten lp / cd (Birdman)
10.00 ppd / 14.00 ppd
Highly-touted psych/garage/pop brilliance from the Bay Area, recorded here
in Memphis by Reigning Sound's Greg Cartwright!
More twisted brilliance from the Prunes- these shows were legendary in 60s

Maybe so! Damn brutal!

HOSPITALS s/t cd (In The Red) 14.00
Speaking of brutal... more Portland scree in the wake of the Hunches...
In the Red lives up to their name once again! Stick that hand in the socket,
boris- we're in for a wild ride again! Oh yeah, I like the name, too.

MOTO Kill MOTO cd (Criminal) 14.00
Paul Caporino's time may never come, but he'll always be the king of the
heartfelt low-fi pop song in my book. You get some real killers- including
"Chicks Can Tell"-
I just got laid and i'm walking down the street
and the chicks can tell, the chicks can tell. ...
and the all-time classics "Choking On Your Insides" and "We
Are The Rats." And "Dance Dance Dance Dance Dance To The Radio."
There's too much here. I can't sell it. I'm collecting this cd. Gotta get
me more copies. Okay, if you want one, I'll sell it to you. You need to
hear it, too.

QUINTRON Are You Reaedy For An Organ
Solo? pic disc lp / cd (Rhinestone/ Three One G) 14.00 / 15.00
Wow- great sexxxxy pic disc lp of Miss Pussycat getting felt up on one side,
and someone who looks a lot like Quintron on the other side (eyes are blacked
out) studding it in only some bvds. What organ are they talking about? Yep,
this is the new rock. More of the mutant R&B attack that Mr Q has perfected.
Just look at the shot of Miss Pussycat with Quintron and MC Traciotomy rockin
an organ in the back of a pickup cruising through New Orleans on a "drive
by." That's freedom, baby.

SCREAMERS In A Better World dbl cd
(Xeroid) 18.00 ppd
Back in stock! Undeniably brilliant collection of these LA synth-punk pioneers-
completely influenctial on most of the new new and no-wave syntheticists
going right now. Lost Sounds love 'em. Destruction Unit loves 'em. Hell,
we all love 'em.
PS Don't buy chinese crawfish. They're puttin' the fishermen down in southwest
louisiana outta business, and by the time you cook 'em, they're stale and
wilted.

SIMPLY SAUCER Cyborgs Revisited cd
(Sonic Unyon) 15.00 ppd
And speaking of proto-punk bizarroness... this rocks. Canadian outsider
rock/punk ala Pere Ubu with synth washes and antisocial sentiment... ah,
the kinda stuff we all love.

SPITS II lp/cd (Slovenly) 9.00 /
10.00 ppd
Back in stock! Some folks have dissed this as "too clean," and
sure, compared to the stuff I've heard that were recorded onto the cassette
WAY too loud, it sure is clean, but damn if the essence of Spitdom ain't
beaming through this thing, too. Maximum brilliant retardation.

TESTORS Testors
Complete Recordings dbl lp/ dbl cd (Swami) 14.00 ppd/ 16.00 ppd
More of what you're looking for- The complete recordings from Sonny Vincent's
brilliant 1976-79 combo Testors. Though they never made it for a number
of reasons (sued by the glue company, personal problems, not cartoonish
enough...), they're completely, undeniably great. Great voice, ripping guitara
- even a 2 guitar punk attack w/o bass back then- sure the Cramps did it,
but punk bands? "Hey You" combines James Williamsonesque guitar
explosion with great singing and a final chorus that'll stick in your head
forever. Once you hear that, you're hooked. Yeah, more stuff than on the
Incognito cd, too.

v/a RAW DEAL cd (Damaged Goods, UK)
16.00 ppd
16 tracks of killer stuff from the UK Raw label including Sick THings, The
Users, Killjoys, Acme Sewage Co, The GTs, The Bloodclots, Psycho's, and
Zhain. If you've heard the Users' "I'm In Love With Today" you
know where they're coming from here.

v/a Oh No, More From Raw lp (Damaged
Goods, UK) 14.00 ppd
A reissue of Raw's 2nd compilation, originally released in 1978 to celebrate
thier first year in existence, with 4 bonus tracks added on. "At this
point Raw had a perfect track record: 18 singles and 18 flops." More
great stuff from Killjoys (pre-Dexy's Midnight Runners & two great songs
here), Users "Sick Of You," Some Chicken, Gorillas, Soft boys,
Lockjaw, Hammersmith Goriallas, Downliner's Sect (the great "Showbiz"),
The Unwanted, Acme Sewage Co, and The Now doing "Into The 80s."
Yellow vinyl.

SUPERCHARGER Singles Party lp (Rip

Great collection of the short-spinners from South City's best band ever
next to the Brentwoods.
Back, Italy) 18.00 ppd
Heavy vinyl resissue of this 1978 classic from the screeching Poly Styrene
and her X Ray Spex, a great name and a great band. You gotta love when the
sax comes in and bums out the "real" punks. "The Day The
World Turned Dayglo." What a song. Inner sleeve with lyrics & photos
and all that.

MARKED MEN s/t lp (Rip Off) 10.00

Ex-Reds members crank out killer catchy songs and get out before the gettin-out's
bad. No song over 2:20. Powerful pop sound like the world likes now... guitar.
Has been compared to Tweezers, but man this is quick and great- it's HOT!
HOT! and HOT!

LEATHER UPPERS Ok, Don't Say Hi lp
(Pantsuit City) 10.00 ppd
Restock on the incredible Leather Uppers lp + singles collection on my favorite
label, Pantsuit City. Combining hot rock riffs with Superchargeresque spirit
and goofballness (actually, this is a lot more goofy), Leather Uppers just
plain ruled. Lotsa Humpers riffs, except about being a nudist or eating
sugar sandwiches. Sure, it's dumb. It's also "the greatest record ever."
Yes, I said that. I'll say it about ten more times tonight, but it is. Numbered
edition of 500.

Actually my two favorite "indie films" are Man Bites Dog and Hate, and those both came from other fucking countries.
But what I mean is, could anything be more boring and predictable than a movie call "Coffee and Cigarettes" featuring Steve Buscemi!?!?

I don't think so, does anybody else feel like the whole GenX thing has become about as bad and bland, as Hair Metal was in the 80's? Rap has gotten pretty bad too, but not like the shit that white people are comeing up with...do your remember when all those buttrockers in your town, suddenly turned into grunge rockers? well, this is so much worst...I just hope they get a close up on the White Stripes ciggarete and coffe stained teeth...fucking sewers I tell ya.
