First things first: I know it's old, but this came to mind as I started to write this post:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGaa8j8qjfY
Now on to business: I need you for two new pay-to-play bands.
able to pay ~$30 a month for rehearsal space (once it gets going; this is the "pay to play" part)
patient, able to see ahead and give things time to develop
able to go out of town some (*of course, not prematurely--or ever if we suck)
easy to spend time with on long trips
Band 1: heavy, high energy at times, big bass sound (see: Big Business, OM**, and a little Cro-Mags [Age of Quarrel])
Me: drums (references: Reuben James
, Vegas Thunder
You: bass/guitar/sing (one and at least a little of the others, plus some keys would be a plus). There will be at least 2 of these positions to fill.
Band 2: pop, but dark; tough but danceable; maybe with a little goth thrown in (see: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lost Sounds, Adam and the Ants)
Me: beginning keyboards (but happy to bounce around, since I've been a beginner "musician" since I was 6).
You: drums/guitar/bass (basic skills)
Female lead vocals/ front presence a must
Let's do this!
**(meant to add: OM could be a better reference but you get the idea)
I put Age of Quarrel on when I mentioned it. Man, that record is so good!!!
Can play some drums. You are much better.
Can play some drums.
"some" is enough; I'm not trying to play drums in the second band...
Bump (not the 3am buc kind)
Two new projects at once? Good multi-tasking.
Great! 2 ultra Shit bands i can avoid! Woo ! Thanks for the heads up! Crotch face!
Is one gonna be called Rachel Hurley?
How Internet of you
"You can't escape me."
2 potential band names "Sha Na Na Goes Hardcore" and "Irrelevant band following FUCH at the Buccaneer on a Sunday afternoon while everyone retreats to the patio"
Great feedback! Thanks! This makes me proud to call Memphis home!
It's a hard knock life
