Memphis, Tenn.'s Goner Records has helped hold together a worldwide scene's worth of ragged, sleazy guitar rock with little more than willpower since 1993. Their yearly Gonerfest tends to fill three days with so much overdriven, yelp-tastic rock 'n' roll that, for the slightest moment, the city of Memphis becomes one big parents' garage.
Gonerfest 6 looks to be no different.... California's NOBUNNY returns to terrorize and delight once more with bunny masks and very little clothing. Fellow San Franciscans Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall and Hunx & His Punk shore up the presence of the vibrant Bay Area scene, while Puerto Rico's Davila 666 helps round out a festival list that promises a grand and raucous time. -- PASTE

A terrific local record store, Goner merits special distinction for the plucky punk label that it also runs out of the shop, which has put out releases by Reigning Sound, longtime local punk icon Ross Johnson, and Quintron (to name only a few), with more on the way from Box Elders and Tyvek. They showcase talent galore at their yearly, four-day Gonerfest. And as far as reps go, these guys have earned one about ten times the size of their tiny shop.-- SPIN
Ty (Segall) will be one of the acts at Goner Fest 6, put on by Goner Records September 24th-26th in Memphis, TN. Other acts include a reformed version of Jay Reatard's first band The Reatards, Thee Oh Sees, The Fresh & Onlys, Magic Kids, Box Elders, The Intelligence, Nobunny, Cheater Slicks and just about every other vital band you could vaguely lump in with the current "garage" scene.
