REMA-REMA - International Scale 7"
REMA-REMA were one of the very first British post punk groups and
released a sole 12" record on the 4AD label (BAUHAUS, BIRTHDAY PARTY,
etc.) in 1980. This is the first unreleased Rema-Rema material to
surface in over three decades, comprising two songs recorded as
four-track demos in 1978-9. ‘International Scale’ is a thudding
two-chord denunciation of the music “biz”, dominated by a metronomic
floor-tom/kick-drum backdrop and menacing feedback, whilst ‘Short
Stories’ is a stark, brittle and melodic 2-minute post-punk song. Both
were the nearest in R-R’s repertoire to that old
verse-chorus/verse-chorus standard. Pressed on thick 70 gram black
vinyl with an insert included. Released by Inflammable Material (UK).
