Does anyone on here know who did the punk shows on Radio Rhodes in the late 80's?

it was Steve Selvidge and this guy named Peter who eventually moved to Seattle or somewhere... my then-bf Tim from Slit Wrist and I would call in all the time requesting Sobering Consequences or SW, to no avail!

Was it Tim who had the real late night show in late 1988 and early '99? I taped it once, and I didn't get any Memphis bands on there, but it was all good stuff. Weird, funny stuff.

Did you ever start and finish with the same song from Repo Man?
I may have taped two different shows. I lost both my tapes. I think there was a Kate Bush song on one, and a song by a band called "the Children of Llyr" and some Rednecks in Pain and Adrenalin Overdose.
There was a connection to the employees of Garibaldi's.
Was that you?

Yeah, I taped it sometimes, too. One time they played a different version of Wild In the Streets than what was on the tape. It didn't have Keith Morris doing the obnoxious "WIIIIIILD". Lost the tape from the radio. Never went back to find it on other records. Wonder where it was from.

a movie soundtrack maybe. I think the Circle Jerks played "Wild in the Streets" in that movie, Thrashin'. I think it also played on the jukebox in that movie, Feds with Rebecca DeMornay.

Thats the show, that is when Neil was still doing it...He got tired of doing it and "gave"(the station manager didnt know i was doing the show, back then you had to have a FCC licence, and I didnt have one,and I wasnt a rhodes student, I was still in high school....but the station was a ghost town after 7PM, so I was able to do the show without anybody really knowing) it to me in early 89...but neil always played a lot of kate bush and the repo tunes were his sign on/sign off...

Is he still in town? I figure I owe him a record or a cd or something.
I'm pretty sure I listened to the tape I made of his show more than any other record I've ever had.
'cept the Tom T. Hall. because I started so young on that one.

this guy named Peter

Peter Loutman (sp?) did a late show and I think it was called something like, "Plagued by Gnats." He would say, "I'm being plagued by gnats." He played some real cool stuff like Pillsbury Hardcore (PHC, later stood for Piss Happy Children), Desecration, Agression, etc.

Rednecks in Pain

I still have the "Sick Semen" demo somewhere that had demonic sperms poorly illustrated on the cover.

you know the song, "hey bob, what's up?" - that's him! he also ran fartblossom enterprises... 76% Uncertain, etc. yeah!

Peter was also your go-to guy if you wanted to hear sub lo-fi hardcore from Yougoslavia...he once wrote a letter to Maximun Rock N Roll complaining about our show, because we played "top 40" punk like black flag and the germs...I wish I still had that...someone whining about what "punk" is in MRR...musta been the first and only time!

His last name was Louton. He was older than me but even as a kid I knew he was way into music.

The We Are The Weird show. That's what it was called.

I think that was the first time I heard the slow acoustic version of "When The Shit Hits The Fan"

Circle Jerks Unplugged!!!

I won tickets to see Suicidal Tendencies on their dreadful "Join The Army" tour from the late night punk show. They did a 'guess this song' thing with the song being Suicide by The Damned. I wouldn't have known it if they hadn't played it the week before.
