according to the Memphis Flyer fanzine:

in what may be the best music-marketing PR ploy ever, Memphis' Oscar-winning rappers Three 6 Mafia will lead music writers from around the country on strip club tours! Pure genius!

Already, national gossip and music sites are plugging the stunt. Check out Gawker.com's reaction, for example. And be sure to scroll down for the list of cities included. Nope, Memphis isn't on there, but then again, thanks to the County Commission, our strips clubs suck, anyway.

best comment at Gawker.com:

Rap group invites journalists to a Detroit strip club while hooker-loving governor resigns in disgrace?

That's not a story, it's an Elmore Leonard novel.

'creep and the true sons shoulda done this when it was first discussed...probably wouldn't have attracted as much attention though.

yep. 'cause strip clubs don't have windows!

from now on we're only playing in places without windows, and with rubber-coated walls.

strip club tours! Pure genius!

i think its the way all bands should tour.... i made this comment in like 1977 when my neighbor told me he worked his way from FLA to LA by playing in strip clubs. they made a shit ton of money AND there was food AND chicks.

isn't this what guys want when they start bands??? duh

Play the Penal Farm. I got the lady's number that books the "entertainment" for the inmates. It was easily one of the funnest gigs I ever played. And far more interesting than playin the shake joint. They took over the stage.

I've done that. One other "free man" and I got to play, and the rest of the band was inmates.

Black Circle, a local Dallas Hip/hop/Rap group is attracting great reviews from airplay on local radio station K104fm, with “Cause I’m From The South”, “Driver Select 1- 800 " New Ride” and “Dallas Representa”

Black Circle has a song currently being played on the airways and myspace pages that was written with the strippers/dancers in mind called “Sweat”. Strippers from all around are pretty much fighting each other & starting rumbles in back-alleys to call dibs on dancing to this song.

Black Circle’s MySpace page is http://www.myspace.com/blackcirclefamily
