do you think m.o.d. will play their song "A.I.D.S."? that is, perhaps, the most politically incorrect song in their fine canon of work. A.I.D.S., according to billy milano(is he still the singer?), stands for "Anally Inflicted Death Sentence" and makes references to hamsters running "rampant" thru one's bowels and also references "the hershey highway" and one "fudge packing man." this can be found on their anti- "We Are The World" themed album called "U.S.A. for M.O.D." a classic of it's thankfully over looked genre. worth it for Evil Army and Bury the Living though.

It will be very interesting to see how the show goes over with the "opposite ends of the spectrum" messages from MOD to BTL.

Thankfully over-looked?

There was some great crossover thrash. M.O.D. wasn't seminal, but The Accused holds up nicely. First S.O.D. album? A classic baiter. Hirax....good stuff. I even like SSD's "How We Rock" but I think I'm the only person on the planet with that opinion.

"Surfin' M.O.D."? THANKFULLY OVER-LOOKED within the genre. First S.O.D. album(Speak English Or Die) was good. so good in fact that "Seargent D" became the theme music for "headbangers ball" in the late 80's. that was all scott ian of anthrax though. only good thing billy milano did besides that was write the lyrics to Agnostic Front's "the Exterminator" on the Cause for Alarm album which marked their crossover. ssd was cool, so was DYS (killer cover of Iron Man). Cro Mags "Age of Quarrel" ruled.

I grew up on that shit but billy milano is a douchebag. check this out:

Rumor is that the M.O.D. rider insists that the Hi-Tone provide accommodations for Milano's pit bulls, in case you needed another reason to shoot at that slow-moving target. I also like how they tried to make a punked-out shark their version of "Eddie." I thought that you dubbed the entire genre as "thankfully over-looked."

You are correct Earles. Thankfully, that entire genre has not been over-looked, but for many enthusiasts, M.O.D. has. And in all fairness, I bought "U.S.A. for M.O.D." back then just because it was in that genre. Even at 13 it didn't take long to realize that it didn't stand up w/ S.O.D. or most of the other good bands that traded in that style. More than anything, I was shocked to see that they are still playing.

Why can I see M.O.D. but not Zoogz Rift?

and i don't mean that in a bad way, but metal lovers are true. they will stick by their bands decades after they were any good.

kinda awesome, kinda retarded.

I am curious to see if their are any true MOD fans...you know, someone who in 2008 thinks they are the shit...its is probably a very scary human being if their are any.

(good)Metal is great because it is simultaneously incredibly, incredibly stupid and genius at the same time....bad metal is metal that doesnt realize it is stupid...shit, you can say the same for rock music also....

I knew the dude who engineered that record. Good guy. Please don't hold it against him.

Which of these records had "Bubble Butt?" Speak English Or Die?

Bubble Butt was on U.S.A. for M.O.D. Speak English or Die was S.O.D.

Did your friend work for Megaforce records?

The reason that I ask is that Dickie Peterson told us that Blue Cheer was on Megaforce in the 80's right around the same time that M.O.D. was there. He said the label owned this building that was a studio/practice space for the bands that recorded for them and John Zazula hired a bunch of prostitutes to meet the needs of his performers... sounds like a steady gig if you were a hooker.

JB, I misspoke - I just did a google search and the guy I was talking about actually did Rhythm of Fear and at least one other one.

Sounds like an, uh, active time in the MF building tho.

Bad Brains got some strange politics as well...yeah. it's just kinda interesting how they ended up on a label that also released a song that says, "fuck those nigger's charity" in response to famine relief for Africa in the 80's.

Can you imagine if somebody came out with that now? Maybe they are...
