Hey, folks. New poster here. Found the site and board while searching the internet for information regarding, you guessed it ... the band HEAD from Seattle, WA. Was excited to see them involved with the label/store (?), on the SXSW showcase, etc. I've been looking for info on them for a long time. Here's my little list of desired info ...

- I own the following, is it a complete discography?
- "Powerfist!" 7" (1992)
- Split w/ Metal Mike 7", HEAD does"Magic 8-Ball" (1992)
- "America 2000" 7" (1993)
- V/A "Puget Power 4" 7", HEAD does "Luv Theme Of HEAD/Tribulations Of Chinaman" (1993)
- "Street Level Assault" 12" (1994)
- "The Monkeys" LP (1997)
- "Total Commitment" 7" (2000)
... Heard tell once of a later release.

- Any truth to the rumor that Goner is going to release "The Monkeys" on CD?

- Anybody got contact info? I have been told there's no website, etc. and in fact the members of the band would never get near a computer.

If you've read this far, thanks for hanging with me. I'd appreciate any help here. Thanks, Bill

HEAD is the GREATEST!!!!

here's what we've heard regarding upcoming releases:

plans of a CD anthology of everything from "The Monkeys" and earlier is in the works. Think the guys are working on that.

Also a NEW LP in the works - coming out soon on Evil Clown!

AND - we are proud to say there should be a HEAD single coming out on Goner at some point in the next year!

Think you're doing good on the anthology, bill.

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDD!!!

Thanks, Zac. Do you know if the CD anthology and new LP on Evil Clown will be available from Goner? I have never been able to find good contact information for the band or label. Don't know where I could buy the stuff. Everything I own was eBayed. (Yeah, I know, very uncool).

Appreciate the information. Real glad to hear the band is active. Will definitely keep an eye on the site for news of the Goner 7". Take it easy. Bill

I'm new to the forum. I actually found it because I was doing a Google search on HEAD and was directed here. Great to see at least a few cool people interested in one of the most underrated, overlooked bands ever to come out of the rock'n'roll underground. You guys seem to be aquainted with their collective works...I was wondering if one of you could give me a track listing for the America 2000 and Total Commitment EPs. I have copies (CD-R...not able to find much vinyl) of their first 7" and both the 12" EP and LP. Anyway, any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello JGA, Guessing you're as psyched as I am about there possibly being three new HEAD releases upcoming. Here's the track lists you asked for ...

America 2000
Side A
- Larry Tate
Side B
- The Secret Weapon
- A Ain't No Weak Tit

Total Commitment
Side A
- She's My Woman
Side B
- Theme Oh HEAD Part II
- Pull The Plug

Shit. That'd be "I Ain't No Weak Tit" and "Theme Of HEAD Part II". Duh.

Hey, thanks Bill! Yeah, I kinda figured on the typos...

I am pretty psyched about the news on HEAD. I've been searching for stuff of theirs since around 1995-1996. I'm a big fan of the Riverdales and Ben always used to cite HEAD as a major influence on their songwriting...along with the Ramones, of course. But the Riverdales never really got around to implementing the formula until their second album, but I digress...

So, aside from getting into the HEAD game kinda late in the game - teamed up with the fact that they're like some kinda phantom band - I've not been able to secure copies of any of their releases aside from the stuff I've had ripped from vinyl and burned onto CD-Rs by a few kind hearted individuals. But now that everything is being compiled, I'll just kick back and wait for the release. Anyway, thanks alot for the response.

No One Likes A Snitch!

that's right your mom

My mom is actually a bar-whore party girl. She's calmed down in her old(er) age and has a family & shit... but she still fucks around on her husband (I'm almost sure of it).

My favorite childhood memory was waking up one Sat morning to the sound of banging on my front door and being greeted by an angry pseudo-boyfriend who demanded to see my mom. Sleepy-eyed I went back to her bed room where I discovered Mom had not made it in from last nights party. So I tell him that I didn't know where she was and he proceeded to want to hang out on the stoop with me (me 13!) and listen to him cry about my mom being a whore. Eventually he left, my mom came home and proceeded to berate me for not "covering" for her ass.

Sorry Ma', Bro's before Ho's!!!!

The same dude eventually broke in our house and doused it with V8 tomato juice and wrote SLUT really big on the door. That was fun coming home to after school. Especially me having to sit there in that shit from 3:30 until she got off work (late at night).

But that doesnt change the fact that the Ramones suck.

For those wanting to complete their Head collections, the Head song "Sno-king Kung Fu" is exclusive to the "Funhouse Comp Thing" CD.
the recording is a four piece w/Giggles on vocals.
so, it's a one-off reunion of the original line up, plus it's Heads first (and currently only) appearence on CD.

Over the course of this weekend, I will be setting up a fan site on Myspace for HEAD. The url is www.myspace.com/takingapeek
Any of you on Myspace ought to check it out and send a friend request. I will, of course, be open to suggestions and will appreciate any band updates that you can pass along. Any help providing pictures would be VERY VERY helpful as they are kind of scarce over the internet. BTW, I have listened to almost nothing but No Hugging, No Learning over the past two weeks. Yet another classic release from the almighty HEAD.

Bump! Hey, I just noticed that on the homepage it lists a HEAD 7\" under \"7\" reissue\". I thought I remembered previously seeing it in the \"Next Up\" list. Don\'t tell me I missed the first press!

Appreciate any info on the record, hope that\'s just an erroneous listing. Is it a reissue of an earlier record, new stuff, etc.?

What\'s the status of the CD reissue of \"The Monkeys\"?

\"No Hugging No Learning\" is awesome fun. Thanks, Goner folks.

crappor has video of Head from right in front of Touch on the right side of the stage from "The Hate Van" until the end. I think she missed 3 or 4 songs, the fucker is almost 30 minutes long. I'll see about shrinkage then youtube.

I got my copy on Saturday. I missed out on the clear vinyl, but it's still a fucking HEAD single and it rules.

The CD is great too, awesome booklet.

Hey, I just started getting into Head, and I've only got "Heil Head," but I prefer listening to single albums/7" rather than whole discographies, so I was wondering if anyone could help me split the songs into their respective albums?

I already know "America 2000" is tracks 5-7
"Street Level Assault" is tracks 9-16
"The Monkeys" is tracks 17-31
And I'm not positive, but I think "Powerfist!" is tracks 2 & 3, right?

Could anyone tell me what tracks 1 (Theme of Head), 4 (Magic 8-Ball (Single Version)), and 8 (Love Theme Of Head / The Tribulations Of Chinaman) are from? Thanks in advance!

magic 8-ball was originally on a split 7" w/ metal mike.
love theme/chinaman was on the puget power vol 4 7" comp.
and i think tracks 1-2-3 are all offa powerfist, but i'd have to check my vinyl to be sure.

Grand Isle, LA (AP) - Seattle rock 'n' roll trio Head have been deployed to the Gulf of Mexico to attempt a revolutionary sonic pelican cleansing technique. As oiled pelicans land on the beach, Head will perform a medley of their classic 1990's hits "Hate Van", "Tire Shredding", and "Taking a Peek", the frequencies of which have been shown to resonate in tar deposits and cause them to break up.

Jonathan Boymeat, a senior engineer with BP, raised questions about the safety of the Pelican's eardrums when exposed to such intense shredding. Thad Allen, the retired Coast Guard Admiral leading the disaster response, dismissed these concerns, saying Boymeat was "a European queerbag."

After 72 hours of testing on lesser creatures, U.S. scientists have given Head the green light to perform their magic on the befouled shores of the great state of Louisiana in hopes that their majestic pelicans may one day soar again like the beautiful melodies of HEAD.
