Listen to Yussuf Jerusalem’s “Evil Rise” followed by “The One You Really Want,” and you’re likely to get whiplash, as the French group downshifts from screeching metal to acoustic bedroom recordings. “It’s too much of a mindfuck,” reports the blog I Could Die Tomorrow, when describing the band’s first album, A Heart Full of Sorrow, out now on Florida’s Dying.
Yussuf Jerusalem’s Gonerfest VI debut is at the Hi-Tone Cafe on Friday, Sept. 24th.
